How do I look? (don't be too harsh)

The pictures are in my gallery (not the greatest, but they work I guess).

Ok, well I've been training since about mid-november, a week or two after I found these forums and learned a lot about eating right and training right (still have a long ways to go in both learning and application).

I'm wondering right now if it would be more beneficial for me to cut right now, or continue a slow bulk. What do you guys think?
 
concentrate on learning the lifts and proper nutrition. as you gain LBM your bf will slowly decrease. at 18 you need to take advantage of those raging hormones and feed your body.

In my opinion, you should bulk. No two ways about it. But in the end, its your decision.

Lol, I know... I think I was trying to concentrate too much in that one... I am eating the right things, but I've never taken the time to add up calories and check for balance in protein/carbs/fat yet. I guess that might be a good thing to do over spring break and maybe lay out some type of actual meal plan... Even though my meals are very regular during the weekdays.

Ur Chest area (pecs), from a female NON-professional standpoint, seems could use more work 2 catch up with those Big Arms u got goin'? i could b wrong...just my first overall reaction? :shrug:

No offense but I have bigger biceps and im 14 and only after 2 months of working out :)
 
How do you know they're bigger? You don't know measurements, and they don't look very good in those pics.

If they are, then congrats, you must have some decent genetics...:rolleyes:

He is just an insecure child who puts peolpe down and exagerates the size of his bodyparts to make himself beleive that he is bigger then he really is...


I wouldn't pay any attention to him...

not bad seanp, how long have you been working out?

The only thing i would say that is lagging a little bit behind is bicep and pecs, otherwise keep it up and you'll get there.
 
Working out + watching diet since mid november 2004. Before then, I ate shit like McDonalds and other fast food all the time, and I overtrained my upper body quite and bit and never trained my legs....
 
I went back and looked again. i am still sticking 2 what i said. Your Neck, Shoulders and biceps, (even 4-arms) R off 2 a good running start. All in well proportion, i thought. The Pecs need the catching up. But, who am i? Just a female non-professional, but i consider myself to have a good eye. ;)

Hmmm, I'm not really sure why my pecs would be lagging... My current chest/tricep/Shoulder routine is:

BB Bench Press 3x6-8
BB Military Press 2x8-10
Dips 3x6-8
DB Flyes 2x10-12
DB Tricep Extension(overheads) 2x6-8
DB Kickbacks 2x10-12

and I've had a lot of other chest routines since november as well.... I'm thinking next change I do, I'll have DB Flat Press, DB Incline Press, DB Military Press, Skull Crushers, and Cable pushdowns. I dunno, maybe the pec-deck would be worth throwing in there too?

I like the way your looking, your exercises must be working well for you..

Looking good man! Keep it up. I would throw in some more chest excercises, like you said, try DB presses, incline, decline, cables (if you have access to them). Oh, and keep on a clean bulk, but that also depends on how big you want to be.

How on earth was this post in anyway constructive? If you've got awesome genetics - great for you, but there's really no need for you to rub it other member's faces. We're all here to learn from eachother and get honest opinions, but if you're just going to be a dick I don't see any point in you posting.

Haha, I remember when I didnt work out my legs.
 
Just a suggestion but try taking pictures without being underneath white flourescent lighting because it washes out your muscle definition. Natural light or yellowish incandescent lighting is better. Also, adding a tan always helps bring out the lines and separations...I wouldn't suggest tanning beds at your age (just had some bad press on this yesterday), but some time on the beach or at the pool would be great.

Other than that, congratulations on having the fortitude to weight train at your age. I wish I did. Keep up the good work!

A tan makes you look bigger. Also posing at certain angles helps.
 
Ok guys god im sorry for that post, and no im not insecure I was just saying and I do probally have the genetics since; my grandpa on both sides worked out and my dad works out.
 
Your young, it happens....just learn from your mistakes.
Keep it positive, keep it strong.
 
You're young...18...you've got that in your favor... I would most definitely go on a clean bulk for a few months and see what kinda poundage you can pack on. At 5'10 164, you can gain alot of LBM still. Not sure what your goals are per say, but I certainly don't think a cut is in order at this time.

Some time, I'd like to get up to 200+, but I know that's going to be a few years at least (most likely). Thanks for all the comments, and I guess I'll keep up a slow bulk then and see how it works out.
 
Hey Seanp156, dude your doing a good job keep up the hard work, I just started lifting weights again after a long time of not lifting. I am at 200lbs not much fat- but I do know that if i loose 20 pounds of fat i may gain 15+lbs of muscle size. I am also 5'10" . At one time i had hard time gaining size. Dude your doing really good and I wish you the best of luck in your goal

I'm not jumping on you or anything, but...

Just because your relatives worked out, how does that give you good genetics?? That would have nothing to do with your genetics, period

My grandpa's worked out when they were younger and my dad still lifts, but that doesn't mean i have good genetics somehow... :confused:
