I want the truth, no dumbing it down to make me feel good. Any negative comments will only make me more eager to add weight to the bar and prove you wrong.

agreed, bend at the knees to stop rounding off your back. if your back rounds your weight is too high.

dead lifts should start from legs not from back, the back must not be rounded at anytime...sorry but this form is not good and not solid.

Wow that was garbage. I thought you (if it is you) had it right when you looked at the ceiling in the beginning. Then, you looked down and arched your back toward the ceiling... quickest way to snap your shit up.

One thing that helps me keep my back straight or positively arced is picking a point on the ceiling and staring at it for most of the movement, if not all of it.

Also, don't concentrate on lifting the weight off of the ground. Concentrate on pushing the ground away from you.

This has to be a joke. For you to even title it as flawless deadlift form, you know it's wrong.

This experienced asian lifter, David Xu demonstrates how to execute perfect form deadlifts despite the huge weight of 100kg.

Really? The OP is trolling.

I'm deadlifting with 120kg now. weird thing is i was nearing the end of my 12 week cycle in the video above. now i'm natty but stronger, why is that?

question. my lower back is sore should i give deads a break?

thanks for the positive feedback and the haters will always hate.

Awesome form. Especially when you glanced over to the side mirror to see how you were doing.

Deadlift Start

The drive off the floor with conventional deadlifts is initiated with the lower back. However, not by rounding the lower back as noheawaian does.

Some rounding will occur and is natural with heavy loads.

Rounding You Back

The reason you are rounding your back is that you abdominals are weak. One of the primary fucntions of the abdominals is to maintain a neutral spine. In other words, the abdominals and erectors (lower back) work together to insure that keep you back straight.

T NATION | Issue 627

This article will provide you a list of good abdominal exercises that will increase you strength.

Leg Drive

You starting leg position in your first repetition looks good. You want your legs to be in a quarter squat position, as you have them.

A quater squat position places them in a stronger position.

Technqiue Training

You training method program you are using right now reinforces bad technique.

"Perfect is as perfect does."

Bad technique limits how much you can deadlift.

Better form places you body in a better position to push or pull more weight.

To learn better technique you need to do the following:

1) Decrease the weight to a load that allows you to perform the movement correctly.

2) Perform Singles or Doubles, 1-2 Repetitions Per set.

Cluster Sets are a good method. A cluster set is performing 1 repetition, resting 30-60 seconds and then performing another rep. Then you rest 3 minute or longer and perform another cluster set.

3) Begin each repetition from a dead stop.

4) Once your technqiue falls apart, STOP doing deadlifts for that day.

Auxiliary Deadlift Exercises

Use auxiliary deadlift exercises as a method of increasing your pulling strength.

Examples:

1) Good Mornings

2) Stiff Leg Deadlifts, with a slight break in the knee.

3) Back Raises

4) Romanian Deadlifts

Back to Ab Exercise Ratio

For every back exercise you perform, do an ab exercise.

You get strong at doing something wrong but even strong when doing it right.

Yes! The lower back is quickly and easily overtrained. Sorness or a burn out feeling, decrease in strength are all indications you need to rest.

Rest is a majory component in recovery and growth.
