I am trying to cut and this is gonna be my diet.

1 cup cereal at 7:00 AM with milk
1 PB&J Sandwich at 12:00PM with Water
1 PB&J Sandwich at 4:00PM with milk
Rice and meat for dinner at 8:00 with milk.
Chocolate milk at 9:30PM.

I sleep at 11.

Usually I would eat a burrito and chips with that sandwich at lunch. The pb&j are for protein so I can keep any muscles I have. Is this ok? I don't really know how to make food and I am at school from 730-3. I am pretty sure if I follow this, I will be in a calorie deficit. I am trying to drop 10 pounds at least.

PLEASE read around the stickies. Thats not a good diet I don't care what youre trying to do...well except suicide.

So do your parents have enough money to buy any better foods for you? If you tell them you want to lose weight they might be more apt to help you out. I love pb and j but I would cut them out and add in some meat and veggies. Are you gonna workout any?

Do yourself a favour: Read N' learn! There,s lots of good info on proper diet and nutrition on here.

Furthermore, you will struggle with loosing fat and retaining whatever muscle u do have on such a diet...Do u workout at all? PB and J is a good choice after your workout. Chocolate milk is not a great choice before bed...

There are very ''fat loss'' friendly, high protein foods that are cheap, easy to prep and gulp on the go.

Chocolate milk is awesome post workout!

PB and J would be better before I think.

Honesty I prefer preworkout fluffernutters, but that's me.

I work out everyday at school. I deadlift, bench and squat mainly. I'm new to the diet and nutrition section so I haven't read the stickies. I'll get on that now.

A young man who's on the ball enough to train squats, deads and bench will figure out diet in short order.

Read up, don't overcomplicate it, and come back with a plan. I'll give you a heads-up and tell you go start tracking your food on FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal while you read and get things figured out.

Once you've got two or three full days in there, run an average, compare it to what you should be getting in and we'll help you make adjustments as necessary.

Do you have an idea of how much protein and fat to aim for? Calories?

I agree. Dam refreshing to see someone at least trying to do some good lifts. Minhkey can you afford better food? Lots of times this is the limiter.

I gotcha dam fluffernutters....
â???ªâ???ª First you spread, spread, spread - your bread with peanut butter top with marshmallow fluff, and have a fluffernutter!â???ªâ???ª

Interesting how we'll bend over backward to help someone who trains properly.

Minhkey, are you at all familiar with the cutting process? Keep your protein high, drop your calories by about 20% below maintenance, keep lifting heavy the way you're doing and do a little bit of cardio if you like, but don't rely upon it for fat loss.

I'm going to try to record how many calories I eat on a regular day to see how much is 20% below maintenance. I am totally unsure as of right now, but I should know by the weekend. Also, I don't know how much protein, fat or calories to aim for.

btw, better food is available, I just gotta ask my mom to make it for me lol. She said she would cook whatever I wanted within reason. I am just unsure of what I should be eating, but maybe I'll know after I finish the stickies, I haven't had the time to read through it all yet.

Thanks for all the help.

Resist the urge to be "good" for a few days, okay? Just eat whatever is normal for you, do your best to record what you eat, pretend nobody's watching and let's see what the numbers are.

What I would LIKE to see are some nice, high numbers. If your maintenance calories are lower than I would think they should be for a young man your size and at your activity level, I'll ask you to track again, and possibly go see your doctor to see if your thyroid is working.

Okay? No need to make yourself look saintly here. If we know what your actual maintenance is, we'll be able to help you get to your goal smoothly.

Happy tracking. :)

Nutella is proof of a loving God.

Nutella has 35g of a whey and casein proprietary blend made by Optimum Nutrition, to help burn fat, build muscle and make your manageable silk smooth. It does all this in 2 tbsp per day.

I just got my drivers license, and I've been going out to eat with my friends a lot, so my diet is pretty horrible. I counted calories one day at 3600 cals. I'm gonna try to get back to normal before I start tracking again.
