How long do you stay sore after a workout?

I'm just wondering if I maybe take a lot longer than average to recover from workouts. My legs were still a bit sore today, 6 days after doing my leg workout! I only have one more day before I'm due to do it again.

Almost never get sore from a workout, but my legs have been sore for the last 2.5 days from the last leg workout, as I'm upping the ante. I think generally once your in shape you'd have to overwork yourself, miss sleep, or have a really bad diet to be sore for very long. The only times I get sore are doing alot more sets than normal, or after an extended layoff (out of shape), which is where I will only do maybe 2 sets coming back instead of 6-10 or however many I did before.

For me, its two days mostly with the second day being more sore than the first.
Legs can be a different story some times though dependinng on the workout and how long between the last time I did legs.

I'm almost always sore for every part with bi's and Abs being the quickest to recover.

Yup, I'm like Scotty..I go for 2 days being sore, usually the 2nd day is worse....I'm hoping I'll be sore tomorrow in my chest, cuz it doesn't feel like I killed it like I normally do...giving gopro's workout a shot..I'm sticking it out though, even if it doesn't kill me the day after

I did the super set week for chest yesterday and I'm sore today, the only week that I don't get as sore on is the low rep/high weight one.

Question: Why do you(me) only get sore after a night's sleep? I mean if I work out in the morning I'm still not sore by the night, I have to actually sleep before I can get sore.
Howcome? What happens during sleep that causes this? If you go long enough without sleep will you just get sore gradually? (apparently I'm never awake for long enough :) )

Yes, it seems to happen durring rest, i do get sore the same day if I don't stay active but for the most part its after sleep to.

Very weird, I really dont get sore on a regular basis at all. When I was younger I was on a whole body 3x per week, 9-12 sets per bodypart (even biceps, not traps/shoulders though) and I still didn't get sore once I was used to the workout.

Major overtraining and I was still fine. I had the best results of my life on that "overtraining" program, although I think I was 17 at the time.

You feel sore after sleeping because the muscles are not moving for a long period of time.
