Wow brother, you seem to have a horrible stomach lol, I think I'd go see a doctor for some medication or get stomach coaters over the counter. Milk should be fine to drink stomach wise unless you are lactose-intollerant.

Why the green tea? It's revs your metabolism, and you want to slow yours down....

Does Tom's scenario sound familiar to anyone? :hello: :help:

Ya I know my stomach is really messed, I'm bloated all the time, I never use to be like this, like last year before I lost all my weight I could eat TONS, I'd never stop. But I think after going for so long without food my stomach just shrunk naturally and I can't eat alot without getting bloated.

I drink it with breakfast right before my cardio, I find it gives me more energy to get through my cardio. which I know you guys will tell me to stop the cardio anways :p

Ugh this dosen't make sense to me...2 week ago I ate 2300 calories and lost a pound and was 119. So then I figured that I really need to increase my calories so I started eating 2800, but today I weighed myself and I was 122 pounds. I weighed myself both times after getting up, using the washroom and wearing the exact same clothes.
So how is it that I can lose a pound eating 2100-2300 calories but then gain 3 eating 2800 calories, isn't that impossible?
Oh weel I gues I'm gonna have to cut back on the food :D , cause I know I can't gain 3 pounds of muscle in one week so the majority of that was probably fat. I'm gonna try 2500 calories this week and see what happens...

It was only a week! Give it time. Eat 2800 (try clean food) and see what happens over a 2 week period. It may not have been fat! Remember that the more carbs you eat, the more water you retain...so it was probably water. You have to stop freakin out

Sorry..any weight gain instantly registers as fat in my mind. I was flipping out and was ready to go back on a 1500 calorie diet and lose 2 pounds, cause I figured at most I might have gained a pound of muscle and 2 pounds of fat. I'll take your advice though and stick with 2800 calories for another week...but if it was water that I retained will it eventually go away? I've been drinking 5- 5.5 Litres of water, thats why I thought it couldn't have been water weight.

5 is a lot, and you're probably taking in a lot of carbs...so it most likely is water. DO NOT GO BACK TO 1500

No, it's good for you. The fact that you know that isn't good. It's like you're not trying to get out of your old habits. People with eating disorders are obsessed with numbers: Always counting (calories, fat, carbs, WEIGHT), and it's a vicious cycle. DON'T COUNT. ENJOY FOOD. You're just going to end up where you were before.

you need to stop living by what the scale says and start paying attention to your body composition. get your body fat tested, it is a great help in determining the effectiveness of a diet...

I'm keeping track of everything now through fitday.com, the only reason why I'm paying close attention to all the number's is because where I'm bulking, I'm eating somewhere between 220-270 grams of protein a day, 200-250g of carbs a day (35-47 grams of fiber) and about 70 grams of fat (10-15g saturated...damn trail mix)

Ya thats why I'm doing now, I went out and bought a tape measurer, and I'm trying to find a caliper or something, I know there not accurate but at least I'll know if and when my bodyfat% starts to increase.

^ exactly what LAM and jaim91 said above.

Personally i use my weight and bf measurements only as a 'guide' to my eventual goal. I keep my goal in sight and the measurements only help me to identify if i am on track or straying away from it. But i dont live by those figures and dont consider a 1 week change much of a significance.

By using fit day, you're still using a counter, lol. It's just cheating the system a little.

lol ya but when I go on it and type in everything I'm gonna have for the day I usually on'y come up at 2000-2200 calories, so I have to sit there for a good 10 minutes figuring out how I can add in the extra 600-800 calories I need

That's cool...but all I'm saying is because you're trying to gain...just focus on the cals. I mean...if you go over for any of the macros, don't worry about it. Just worry about going under (this is no good).

Dude, I think you worry too much about facts and figures about nutrition, you're 15 years old!!!!!!!!!!! Don't let it take over your life...........if you're hungry, eat, within reason, just eat a healthy balanced diet to suit your boudy type and at 15 you're likely to fill out and grow more in the next couple of years anyway.

Remember, moderation, don't overdo the excercise as you sound like an extreme Ectomorph. If you wnat to bulk, then only exercise a couple of times a week, eat well and pump iron, but not too much, at 15 this can be harmful if your bones are still growing.

ya I usually go over with the protein sometimes because I can't fit enough fat into my diet anymore since I stoped eating peanuts, but that dosne't bother me, my main concern is the carbs/calories.

Well my plan is, is to go on a bulk for about 5 months then a cut for about 2 months, and depending on what I look like after that I might just try and maintain or bulk again for 5 months then cut for 2 months. I also think the exercise is the only thing keeping me thin..I doubt I'm a ectomorph, I was a pretty big kid and kept getting bigger and bigger the thing is though I'd always wear baggy clothes so noone could tell. My day usually went something like this:
Wake up, get ready for school, may have some fries or something for lunch, get home have alot of chips then sleep for 5 hours, wake up eat some poutine/hamburgers/eggrolls, while watching an hour or 2 of TV then go back to sleep and then wake up the next day for school.. I'm either a mesomorph or an ectomorph, cause I don't think ectomorphs would gain weight even if they followed that schedule.

So, what fats are you getting in your diet? You can't cut them out all together. You know the pie charts on fitday that shows you how much of everything you're getting, the carbs and fat shoudl be about the same (with carbs a little higher)

Well today I had 72 grams of fat (17 saturated) and 268 carbs (52 grams of fiber), not sure if I should be eating all that fat though..

Man relax about this...Go @ a buffet stuff yourself up with chicken barbeque and beef meat and spaghetti/pasta, come home, sit down for a while then work out the carbs and burn some fat of what you just ate. That's the way you'll gain weight when you're 120 lbs...
I was 138 lbs @ the beggining of the summer
I'm 160 lbs now after 3 months roughly and I haven't been eating any "HEALTHY" stuff..i Just worked out every 2nd day and I ate 3 good meals a day + 2 snacks...Once a month i went @ a buffet, ate around 4 dishes of meat + 3 ice cream bowls + some cakes (Around 6000-8000 calories) and that's what put the fat on me. I used the fat to transform into muscle...

Meanwhile gaining 22 lbs, my body fat rised VERY litle, and i have increased my biceps and back significantly. Now i'm planning to stop the carbs and most fat and live a healthier life..I'm European (livin in canada) and alike most europeans i don't give a fuck what i eat. People that sit all day staring @ labels and picking out food tend to get obesse ..

Maybe listen to reimon...that sounds good. You don't always have to eat clean, but you induldge every once in a while, then work out every other day...not too bad a plan

Well what my problem is, is that i don't find junk food apealing, I'd much rather have my crackers with peanut butter and cheese instead of a bad of chips. And if I tried eating all that I'd end up throwing it all up, by the time I'm finished my supper or last meal of the day I have such a full stomach I feel like I have to throw up but I force myself to keep it down and I just lay down for a little bit untill it's kinda settled in there.

Ya, i do that to. OK, so instead of a bag of chips, have a bagel with full fat peanut butter. it's the best of both worlds.
