I have wanted to make up a meal plan for some time now, however there are so many different things that I hear that I'm not sure where to start. Anyone know of any great resources (books) that can help me out?

There's a lot to it as far as getting exactly what you want out of your food. So you'll need to list a lot of things. Nutritional profiles need to be specific to the person... and anyone experienced in profiling clients will tell you, no matter how good you can get started out at, you'll still need some trial and error to make it just right.

Let's get a few questions out of the way first.

How old are you?
How much do you weigh?
How tall are you?
How would you rate your metabolism (slow, average, fast)?
What kind of training do you do?
How often do you train?
What is your current body type?
What is your target body type?
What kind of food (if any) are you allergic to?
Describe your food availability (shop for yourself, have to eat school food, etc)?
How much sleep do are you able to get at night?

Convey those details and maybe we can sketch something rough out for you.

Im current;y 19. I weigh about 155 lbs at 5 ft 9 in. I have a pretty fast metabolism and i have a body type that does not have much fat on it. I lift monday-saturday (I split up my workout so that I target a muscle group every other day). For each muscle group I do about 3 lifts to target the different muscles and 4-5 sets for each lift. I'm not allergic to any foods and I go to a community college so living at home gives me great food availability. I also get about 7-8 hours of sleep.
I have been reading many of the posts and loooking at what others are doing to bulk. I read through the nutrition section of arnold's encyclopedia but I think I need to do a lot more research than that.

There are good stickies in the diet and nutrition forum check them out.
