Unfortunately, I really smoked that much. I still cough a lot - almost a year later. My teeth are in very bad condition, and that is because of smoking, I'm sure. I was talked into smoking when I was ten. And by the time I turned 18, I was smoking like that. Since the age of 20, I have tried to stop smoking. But you simply can't do it if you want to do it for others. This time, I either had to do it for myself or give up sports altogether.
KelJu,
My father is about the same age as yours and smokes about the same amount. Apparently, he's in good condition. But the doctors say that he's a wreck. So, what should I believe?
True, smoking affects the health of some people more than others. But smoking and not being affected at all in any way is like walking in the rain without getting wet - simply impossible. Just ask your Dad to stop smoking for one month. I bet he won't even try it because he knows he can't. So far to his not being affected ... If he does, he will see a big, big change after as little as 12 hours. But I doubt he can go that long without a coffin nail.
