fair enough, but they also attack without warning.. a friend of mine used to do volunteer work with mentally handicapped children and would regularly come home with bite marks.. he almost lost his life once when he was driving one of them around. the kid punched him in the back of the head and knocked him out.. while he was driving. luckily he was at a stop light and had his unconscious foot on the brake..can you imagine if that happened on the freeway? anyways.. they definitely are dangerous, some are akin to wild animals in a way.. im guessing you've never heard of "retard strength"?

I can believe that. Hence riot squads for individual prisoners. When the mind is unhooked...

The boy has a mental disability. Don't take it out on him, he can't control it. And if his degenerate parents can't control him there are state funded homes to put him in. Cps should definitely be called.

No, there aren't any state funded homes. Ontario has had major cutbacks and now a lot of people that can't take care of their children are being forced to. You can't just blame the parents because it's easy too.

Here in the states there are plenty. I don't know how it is north of the boarder. But u can't blame the boy. It's out of his control.

wow what? I've volunteered in one capacity or another for the last twenty years including with handicapped children, psych patients and inmates (an art program) how would offering to help one of my neighbors out be any different?

Look, when my house burned down my community raised a little over 5 k in two days to help us out along with innumerable donations for household stuff, clothing, gift cards to go DO stuff and about a bazillion offers to watch kids while we dealt with everything.
Nevermind which my neighbors son had to be stopped from running into a 5 alarm fire because he didn't realize we had gotten out safely.

The power was out here for 14 days two years back from a freak snow storm that took down pretty much every power line and most of the utility poles and a shitload of trees. It was like the apocolypse. Think no power, no fuel and no way to travel normal roads. The national guard was deployed because emergency services couldn't get anywhere (I did fine driving across lawns in an awd audi ;) cuz the truck wouldn't fit anywhere )
Everyone that had chain saws helped cut out trees out of the road, off neighbors houses etc. Everyone with generators, wood stoves and other heat sources helped shelter those that didn't have heat sources..all the restaurants severed free food before it was junk from no power.

I dont see why helping neighbors out with an autistic child would be any different. I have extensive experience and they're my neighbors...why wouldn't I?

yeah they totally can be....I have a good friend with an autistic kid.
I actually mentioned horseback riding because I've volunteered to do that too (there's a local place here that does horse therapy with autistic kids)...they really respond well to animals.

Ah, there's the (impressive) background context. Just the way you wrote it sounded like you went from 0-total raft of help and activities in 3 seconds.

My brother has downs. Every Wednesday I go to his workshop with my dogs and help out for an hr. it brightens up their day.

I have a friend that I went to high school with that used to be a big bodybuilder, was a diesel mechanic...big guy, anyway he hit a parked car on his harley at 60-some-odd mph, shit faced of course without a brain bucket. Anyway, he survived but is now retarded and has a great deal of physical motor deficits

you could have knocked me over with a feather when he went into my garage unannounced and my shepherd not only didn't bite him ( bit everyone) but he just sat down and let the guy pet him.
Anyway, he would stop and visit my shepherd regularly after that and it always seemed to calm him down.

We taught him to drive again. We even took him mud bogging with us a few times...

also, my ex husbands sister is retarded from a brain injury in infancy

and like I said...I've volunteered in one capacity or another since I was a teenager. Mainly in animal rescue and as a paramedic.

Back to the original topic. I'd beat the letter writer unconscious then burn their house down. With them in it.
Possibly leave a fresh air tank on them so they actually burned to death rather than die of smoke inhalation

You realise how slightly uncomfortable all the neggers are feeling right now?

I'm not feeling any bit uncomfortable.

I can't understand how someone adopts a breed of dog that's hated for the way it looks then turns around and hates a person for the way they look. Or loves a sibling that can't help having a handicap but hates a person that can't help what color their skin is.

I may neg him again here shortly

Hold on a god damn second. You dont blame the mentally disabled kid cause hes got no choice in the matter. Who else smells the irony

Media is to blame for giving pits a bad rep. Black people give themselves a bad rep just by the way they act.

you beat me... I may take it out on you later

Well it's a mental disability. You can't hate them no matter the color. It's not to the person.

pitbulls make the list for breeds of dogs to have killed a person in a mauling every year for the last ten years, so have huskies or malamute breeds.

your point again?

Ya so. And a golden retriever ate a woman's face off in her sleep. So r they bad dogs to?

I believe it was a lab actually...worlds first face transplant recipient.

No and that's the point I'm trying to make.

oh and

too- as well/also
to- go to a location, go to the store
two= 2

HTH

Lets focus on the lab. All dogs have the ability to attack without cause. They are direct descendants of wolves. Just a bit more domesticated.

significantly more domesticated, including important things like respiratory systems, placement of certain parts of the brain and digestive systems.
You're the one that didn't know what resource guarding was and that it has nothing to do with aggression.

but sure. We can go down that road if you'd like.

and don't forget...I adore my pit and have been getting research and paperwork together to start a rescue group that focuses on advanced dog training of all breeds as long as they have suitable fundamental temperaments.

what do I know...I just google and cut and paste (which I have never done ever without citing it)

oh, and I used to compete in schutzhund

go google that

I feel Sheri and Jake became a little closer to friends.

[h=2]2012 statistics[/h]
  • 38 U.S. fatal dog attacks occurred in 2012.2 Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 600 U.S. cities,3 pit bulls contributed to 61% (23) of these deaths. Pit bulls make up less than 5% of the total U.S. dog population.4
  • Together, pit bulls (23) and rottweilers (3), the second most lethal dog breed, accounted for 68% of all fatal attacks in 2012. In the 8-year period from 2005 to 2012, this combination accounted for 73% (183) of the total recorded deaths (251).
  • The breakdown between pit bulls and rottweilers is substantial over this 8-year period. From 2005 to 2012, pit bulls killed 151 Americans, about one citizen every 19 days, versus rottweilers, which killed 32, about one citizen every 91 days.
  • Annual data from 2012 shows that 50% (19) of the victims were adults, 21-years and older, and the other half were children, ages 8-years and younger. Of the total children killed by dogs in 2012, 79% (15) were ages 2-years and younger.
  • Annual data also shows that males were more often victims, 61% (23), than females. The majority of male victims, 61% (14), were ages 8-years and younger. Of the total female victims, only 33% (5) fell into this same age group.
  • In 2012, roughly one-third, 32% (12), of all dog bite fatality victims were either visiting or living temporarily with the dog's owner when the fatal attack occurred. Children 8-years and younger accounted for 75% (9) of these deaths.
  • 34% (13) of all fatalities in 2012 involved more than one dog; 13% (5) involved breeding on the dog owner's property either actively or in the recent past, and 5% (2) involved tethered dogs, down from 6% in 2011, 9% in 2010 and 19% in 2009.
  • In 2012, dogs referred to as a "rescue" accounted for at least 13% (5) attacks that resulted in death. Children suffered the brunt of these attacks with 3 deaths. The adults afflicted, 2 adult females, were killed by their own pack of "rescued" dogs.5
  • Dog ownership information for 2012 shows that family dogs comprised 58% (22) of all fatal occurrences; 82% (31) of all incidents occurred on the dog owner's property and 18% (7) resulted in criminal charges, down from 29% in 2011.6
