Hey u all. my new trainer (who i like a lot), suggested to me that i do most muscles twice a week (prob not legs). ANyways...i kno u all say that one muscle a week is good....but im starting to agree more with my trainer. For some reason...i gain more training muscles 2x a week. Now this goes against most of u alls advice, but i find that im gaining so well on while training most muscles twice a week. I feel training them once a week and resting that muscle 6 days is too little. Am i wrong? I mean my trainer is a big big guy and he trained muscles 2x a week usually. I will find his site so u can see him. But is what im doing okay?

Yes, it is.

Well different people have different genetics. And so people's muscle react differently to different kinds of routines. If that work out for you, stick with it. Theres no rule saying you cant work your muscle 2x a week. good job :thumb:

It depends what kind of volume you are using. I used to do full body workouts 3 times per week and saw good gains this way. As well, if your muscles heal quickly compared to the average population, then you might as well take advantage of that fact.

There is a balance between volume and frequency that we all eventually decide on. With the weight I seem to be using at the moment, I am a once a week kind of person. I am sore almost into the next workout on many bodyparts.

newbies to resistance training can do almost anything in the gym and they will gain LBM if there is a caloric excess...

im not really a noob. And my trainer isnt either

in that case...it sounds like you're doing well by increasing the frequency (and probably decreasing the volume and intensity) of your workouts.

When I do total body workouts I train everything three times a week. I also have some splits where I do everything twice a week too.

Most of my cleints will train everything twice a week with me also. The important thing to consider, like everyone has said, is that intensity and volume need to be taken into consideration.
