Im skinny and need help with supplements?

hi im starting out at the gym and want to put on serious mass but im skinny at the moment and im really confused with all the different supplements that i have to take, have been reading up about on the internet but its started to confuse me now and thought i would ask real people that have been in this situation before, thanks
 
Well first of all, to gain weight you need to eat some good food and plenty of it. Your caloric intake needs to be higher than your calorie expenditure.

As for supplementation whey protein is essential for post workouts. Creatine is also great for aiding in building muscle when taken before and after workouts. I personally like ore workout drinks, not that they add mass, but they allow me to get a harder more intense workout in. Check your private messages bro.
 
Your #1 supplement needs to be food and loads of it. Until your diet is dialed in, supps aren't gonna do much. I don't consider whey protein as a supplement, it is a food/meal replacement.
 
How old are you?


And just to give you some basic truths that will help you save money and time, don't look for supplements to make the difference in your body. Your body was designed to run efficiently. Fuel it and exercise it for the goals you want. That means, as the guys called out above - you gotta eat, and then lift like a mutherfucker to get your results.

The other basic truth is that muscle takes time to grow. Don't spend a week lifting and then get frustrated because you didn't put on 20 lb. You just got started in the gym and my guess is your diet needs to be completely revamped if you want results. Get the basics worked out - and then go do it. And just stay consistent. Don't get impatient looking for results.

What is your current diet? Can you list in detail please, as:

Meal 1: 8 am
5 egg whites + 1 whole egg
1/2 c oatmeal

Meal 2 : 11 am
5 oz chicken
1 cup spinach
1 tbsp vinegar & oil

etc.

whatever you currently eat in a day double it. report back in a week.

-Fish Oil
-Flaxseed
-Various other nuts
-Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-Salmon

I go about 1.5g/lb for protein, 2g/lb for carbs, and just over .5g/lb for fat. Seems to work pretty well. Gives me plenty of calories and energy! Can't not grow when having an intake like that. Give it a shot, clean calories of course for good solid gains.
