So, I worked out twice in the past 17 days due to moving and after my workout last night I noticed a pain throughout my right shin. I used to have a pain like that in the past, but it was in both shins and not as intense. I haven't had a pain like that in a long time.

Anyway, it got worse throughout the day and it is pretty bad this morning. If
I do a body weight squat the pain shoots through my shin. My only guess of how I messed it up was doing dumb bell cleans on a concrete surface, but I only did one set with a couple 50 pound DB's.

The pain really only set in about 30 minutes after my workout when I was stretching. It got progressively worse throughout the day, like I said. I hope it isn't a stress fracture or something, I've never felt a pain like this. It feels like a bruising of the bone.

I realize I'll have to go get it checked out if the pain sticks around, but maybe I can get some insight.

I did ice and elevate it, took some Advil too. I'm thinking I may compress with some tape for the time being so I can walk and use stairs without pain.

i would go to the DR. and get that looked at......I was going to guess a possible stress fracture before I read that you already guessed that.

Why DB cleans on a concrete floor? :shake:

I've been training outside for the past 6 months on the grass. I just moved and that isn't so much of any option anymore, I guess I just forgot that there were different ground surfaces...just kept doing what I was doing before. Painful reminder of Newton's third law.

Plus side, it feels way better today than yesterday. Not all the way recovered, but I think if I give it another day I may have avoided this one. Just have to see if it sparks up again next time I train.

Feeling much better today. In fact, I totally forgot about it until I remembered this thread. Still not all the way better it is definitely improving.

Well, things are not going well so far. I took 4 days off any squatting and today the pain just came back to the same degree after doing some squats. I have scheduled an appointment with an orthopedic sports specialist, we shall see how things go.

Thanks. It sucks because I am just getting back into the swing of things and feeling good. Hopefully I can figure this shit out.

Doctor's appointment is tomorrow, hopefully I get this shit figured out.

Got Xrays today, no fracture (phew). The doc examined and said the pain is right where the patella tendon connects to the tibia, he said it sounded like tendonitis him considering the area and the xrays.

Time off is the key, glad I didn't fuck anything up too bad.

Very good news, glad to hear its nothing a little R+R cant sort out :)

thanks dewds.

I just came in here to post my situation but I see I already did. Damn, my memory sucks.

Today I did some squats to see what it felt like, no pain. Also, it doesnt really bother me just walking around/going up and down stairs anymore either.

Things looking better.

Good deal fu. Things always start to feel better when you find out they're not as serious as you expected. :)

indeed, I tend to over-react to injuries. But better than under-reacting.
