I work 3rd shift in a grocery store. I make decent money but I absolutely hate my job. Working every weekend is mandatory for me. Looking for a new career is a priority for me. So I was wondering what other fellow members here do for work. Do you like your job? I wish i had a career that I enjoy. Life is short and I don't want to work a shitty job anymore. I am just looking for new job ideas.

I have the best job in the world, see my signature. Most of it is voluntary :ohyeah:

find something that, after you know how to do it, you can have other people do it for you.

I'm pretty good at pissing people off. I don't know how to get paid for that though.

paparazzi sounds like the career for you

i just put in my 2 week notice at a grocery store. yes I worked nearly every weekend and got treated like shit, with little pay. hello career.

i worked there for 5 years lol

You definitely worked in a grocery store. I work with some of the dumbest people I have ever known. I am not the smartest guy but I am there.

I was with Halliburton on rigs for years, I quit becasue if the time away from my family, and started a Web Design, and Marketing company. Now I set my own time, money is better, and I don't need to worry about h2s gas lol

Addictions counselor. Love my job. The pay is a joke.

Muscle Gelz Transdermals

All that really matters is doing something that you love.

capture manager and program manager...missile business

Its a good career....not sure if this something I want to be doing my entire life though. Industry is definitely about to get squeezed due to constricting DoD budget. The reduced job security has made things much more cut throat.

carpenter... good pay after you become journey level, but back breaking work... its good cardio lol...

my "real job" as a data analyst was outsourced in 2000, never to return to the US. now I am back working in the field in telecommunications, I have my own business. the pay is great but for me the work is equivalent to changing light bulbs, extremely un-challenging.

Until recently a test technician for a tier 1 auto supplier. That's right. I get to break shit for a living. Recently I was promoted to supervisor on 3rd shift. Now I don't get so dirty and I have five minions to do the work.

ever get to see any of them launch?

I saw some aegis cruisers launch some TLAM's during the gulf war, fucking bad ass.

when I started getting huge I barely fit in my shirts and customers were asking "do you work here?" my joke is "yes, unfortunately" :jerkit:

I'd rather work with a dependable person with a great attitude and perhaps less intelligence than an erratic idiot with a sh1t attitude possessing a genius IQ.

Go back to school.

I've worked my share of "grocery store equivalent" jobs. Finally took my BA in art and asked what the university would take to earn my teaching certification.

Earned that cert with 30 credits back in 1999. Have been a full-time elementary school art teacher for nine years (as of November).

Went into debt to achieve the credits necessary, but it was a worthwhile investment in time and cash for the satisfaction I get being an educator (or just a guy picking up crayons for a living).

Seriously, no job is perfect but being an art teacher must be close.

very few are that fortunate. and even less are able to find that while being highly compensated.

I am a bean counting cubicle drone. It pays the bills.

I guess technically I count the beans *and* distribute them.

I write and teach safety courses for a Department of Energy contractor up at the Nevada National Secuirty Site. I get to stand up in front of a class and TALK about work then make them go DO the work. :ohyeah:

On the down side, if one of them makes a mistake:

My manager just had a massive heart attack, so I just became executive manager of the PV Division here, but without anyone to fill my old position I am doing both Jobs 12-13 hour days, no lunch. At least I get to start implementing changes I've wanted to do for the past 8 years.

I was a youth worker for many years , loved the job but the pay sucked. Became a prison officer a few years ago, doubled my pay and halved my workload.

I work in a construction supplies factory loading and unloading trains its great, killer benefits, great hrs (noon-830pm) and the money is amazing! Cant complain unless the construction industry flops lol!
