Yes, yes, yes....that's why I got to have my cup of Joe in the morning.
Overall, coffee is good, but just like anything else that is good, in excess it can cause problems.
The first problem arises during pregnancy which he doesn't adress. Up to five cups of coffee a day during pregnancy is fine, but more than that can cause problems to the pregnancy. (Ie: stillbirths see link to the British Medical Journal http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=149440)
If someone is prone to insomnia or sleep problems, ingestion after 10 am can cause problems with their sleep cyle or drinking 9 cups or more a day.
I know someone who claims they must drink a cup or two of coffee just prior to going to bed or they can't sleep. Now isn't that a strange thing?
Coffee does increase acid secretion in the stomach so those with reflux or ulcers, be careful,
Ugggg ohhhhhhhI guess I will have to chose between my coffee or my hot sauce.
Be wary of the Parkinson's connection. Most of the studies were done with coffee drinkers who also smoked. Thus, the conclusion was that smoking and drinking prevented Parkinson's, not coffee drinking alone. We aren't sure if the nicotine and coffee combined created a neuroprotective agent from Parkinson's, (My theory is that they were killed off by their smoking before they could develop Parkinson's )
Wow! now isn't this a kick in the pants. If you smoke and drink coffee chances are you can avoid getting Parkinson's. But you could get one of the hundreds of cancers or other illnesses caused by smoking. I think I would take my chances and not smoke.

Yeah I've always loved coffee, I have drank mine black since I was like 15 years old. I usually drink 4-5 cups in the morning just to get me going. That's about it though, I'm primarily just a morning drinker. My coworkers have always teased me about my aladin thermos that I've brought in to work with me since I was 18 years old. I still carry the same thermos. Gotta hand it to that thermos company, they last forever
. It still has a dent in the side of it from when I was a kid. I worked for a company driving a forklift and clipped it
. But everyday, rain or shine, I bring in that thermos filled with folgers coffee
. I've always hated the company coffee...was like mud.

The average cup of coffee is 6 0z and contains 100mg of caffeine. (Higher for starbucks and espressos etc.)

I have heard that this is not true. The darker the roast the less caffine. Most of starbucks coffee is esspreso roast wich is a longer more dark roast which caffine is lost during this long roasting process. Please prove me wrong bandaidwoman. Just so I can justify spending 5 bucks for one non-fat quad venti cappacuino.
