Wow, W8 girl you eat a bunch when cutting...Lam it seem that w8 weight more than 100 pounds less than you and eats only about 500 cals less when cutting! W8, are you extemly active during your cutting diets...

I have read your journal, and it seems you do moderate amounts of cardio, and you are pretty close to your show. You said you did'nt paint anymore...Hmmmm. Well girl, I will think of you and your ripped sexy self when I think 2200 is too much...Thanks for posting this..

Wow I am an idiot.
I forgot to check out the journal section.
My Bad.

Opps, that was a typo I go from 3,300-3,500...

6' 218 at 10% when I started cutting I dropped my cals to 2300-2500 each day. I know its not much but I do very little cardio. If I do any its just a walk in the mornings.

You also have to take into account I only train once every four days. Each training secession is 15-20 min.

I do more cardio when I'm not cutting, lol. I don't think I did any cardio at all my last month of cutting. I actually like cardio (most of the time) but it's only a tool for cutting....I rely on my diet mostly to cut....the cardio i do is because I enjoy it.

1st stage (2 weeks)-2500 cals/High amount of aerobic type cardio

2nd Stage (2 weeks)-2250 cals/switch to anaerobic interval training

3rd Stage-2000 cals/No cardio

4th Stage-When progress halts, add 30 minutes of anaerobic interval training with no change in cals.

I am currently at 200 and nearing the 4th stage of my cutting phase which should put me at about 190-195. My goal is for the end of July to be the switch from cutting to a 3 month maintenance. I am debating the need for another bulking phase.

You're metabolism might increase if you ate more calories! :eek2:

No kidding. If you are running 8 miles per day on 1400 calories you're putting your body into severe caloric depletion. You're burning around half your daily calories with your exercise! Where is your body going to get what it needs to maintain your systems and function properly?

yeah I agrea it is realy an odd thing. It seems though whenever I up my calories I put on body fat. I eat a clean diet with an occasional cheat day. I have a nagging feeling I have a thyroid problem. Iam going to see a docter about it when I get time. I have a family history of thyroid problems. It just kinda sux being 19 and not being able to go out and do the stuff every one else is doing. I can't drink or eat junk food like all my freinds because I simply get fat.

this is it with a bit of variation
8 .5 cup oats 150c
1 scoop whey 100.
1tbs peanut butter naturel of course 100 300
11 1 cup fiber one 120
1 cup ff cottage cheese 160 280
1.30 1 chicken breast 130
1 cup veggies 40 170
4. 1 can tuna 150
1 cup veggies 40 190
6.30 1 chicken breast 130
1 cup veggies 40 170
9. 2 scoops whey in water 200

300+280+170+190+170+200= 1310
I usuely eat fish 3 times a week primarly salmon for the omega 3s

Dude...I can tell you that you are only doing harm to yourself by eating like that! That seriously is NOT enough calories to sustain even a 100lb female! I would bet money that your thyroid function is fucked because you've been starving yourself and if you ate a decent amt of calories you'd see an increase in your metabolism and you'd be a lot healthier. This is not right! How long have you been eating like this? In the case of food....less is not more! When you don't feed your body w/ the proper amt of calories it will feed off your muscles and shut down your metabolism and hold onto everything you feed it...because your starving it...it thinks you're not going to get a next meal so it stores everything just in case!

Ive been eating this way for around a year. The suprising thing is that I havn't lost muscle or gained any either. But thats a whole differnt story. I bench 25o squat 440 clean 240 and dead around 400. I have tried going up in my calories but it realy doesnt do much besides raise my Bf%. Ill up my cals again but the same thing tends to happen with me. When I add I try to add them in slowly usuely 100 every couple of days. There is something for sure wrong with my body though.

Yes...you're fucking your own body up...that's what's wrong! You store it because, like I already said....you've been starving yourself for far too long....it's going to store everything you give it because of that. I strongly urge you to increase your calories and put up w/ the fat gain that does occur...you seriously need to reset your metabolism. Once you're body is used to food again, it will stop storing everything you give it and you will be able to gain muscle and lower your bodyfat if that's your goal, but until you reset your metabolism, it's only going to store everything as fat.

I don't mean to sound harsh but you have to realize what you're doing is not healthy! Check out the stats on the people in this thread...and how many calories they're consuming....you don't have to starve yourself the way you are.

Just as a personal example...when I first started trying to lose weight I went low cal and it didn't work. I went from 1500 cals to 2200 per day and actually started LOSING weight. Recently for a comp. I dieted down way too much and looked emaciated taking in about 1500 per day, which wasn't nearly enough. I jacked it up to 3000-3200 and look a lot better now than I even did when competing (embarassing but true).

w8 is right and she knows what she's talking about. What's the harm in trying to increase your diet? Do it gradually, but get yourself up over 2000 per day and see how you feel and your body responds. I'll almost guarantee you'll look and feel lots better and start making gains again.

BTW if you weigh 146 and can deadlift 400 lbs I'm pretty damned impressed. You should be in powerlifting competitions.

Same here.
I have made the mistake of going on a very very low cal diet.
Excessive cardio and a very low cal diet is a perfect combination
if you want your body to store fat and lose some major muscle.
It was probably the biggest mistake that I have made since I started training.
Some signs of a slow metabolism include:
very low blood pressure
always feeling cold
dry skin
constipation
and in my case the worst case of hemmroids known to man.
I had all these symptoms and it sucked BIG TIME!

Then I made my situation worse by increasing my calories too quickly which resulted in major major major fat storage.

So I would suggest making gradual changes to your diet,
ESPECIALLY when increasing your calories.

On my current cutting diet, 2000 calories!
bawling.gif
And I'm fricken starving! Cutting calories bites! Oh, and I weigh 140 lbs, who knows what the heck my body fat really is, but I'm pretty lean.

I just dropped down Ive tried to cycle my calories higher. I was at 2200 a day for about a month with no results. I train Hard 4 days a week and it doesnt matter what my diet or routines look like I dont realy get any stronger with the execption of deadlifts. I used to eat whatever I want back in high school and I was 162. Ive been lifting for 4 years done every program out there.(currently loving hit training) I havnt got any stronger in 3 years. For me 1400 is alot of food and iam still very very full. The wierd thing is that with my low cal intake I dont lose muscle which is very odd. My big problem is the fear of being fat again. Both of my parents are overweight and I dont want to be like them
