yeah i figure parents on here put more thought into their childrens fitness, but america as a whole has a major obesity problem. and we seem to believe that theres no need for competition. every kid win or lose gets a trophy etc. i believe in a little healthy competition and truly believe it makes us better and healthier people.

The obesity problem has less to do with physical activity and more with the shit diets kids are on. High carb/processed food diets spike insulin which shoves most of the food they eat right to fat deposits making kids lethargic and not wanting to do any physical activity. When I was a kid I ate a ton of food & couldn't wait to get outside to burn off some energy and was always thin. It's the food kids eat today.

I agree 100%
Depending on your age our parents made our pb sandwiches, cooked dinner at home And sent our butts outside to play!
Now it's video games and fast food, processed foods....IMO as a society we've become lazy....

This is it. EXACTLY. But at the same time, parents nowadays are scared to just let their kids go outside alone and play like normal kids.
