It may not be the nicest...
We were having a huge storm in Dallas, I saw homeless looking dude HHiknig, dressed like a vet. I picked him up, talked on the road for a while he was going to Austin. I took him by my church, washed and dried his clothes, and let him shower, and fed him. he needed money, and asked for some work. We made up some bs job, Sweeping the floor i think, he did it, they paid him. I picked him up later from church, fed him dinner and let him stay at my house for the night. He left for Austin next day. At least it stopped raining, so he was dry, full and had snome cash for his journey.
The interesting part, over the next 2 years, I saw him a couple of times on I-35 heading south HHiking again, he looked quite a bit worse, but he said he liked going from Dallas to Austin for his chosen lifestyle. I don't see him anymore, I still travel I-35 all the time to San Antonio, sometimes several times a week.
I just remembered his name was Mike.
