Lagging arms

I don;t get crazy bicep pumps during an arm workout. I mean sure I have good muscularity on my forearms. My tricps are horseshoes but I am very self conscience about my biceps. My arms are just under 18''. I think my bicep peak could be a lot better. Standing barbell is my fav exercise.
I would also doing one arm dumbbell preacher curls for 8 reps of failure at a slow tempo. 3 sec down 1 sec pause 2 sec up.
Those 2 are my main mass builders.
I just need to know if anyone else has trouble getting their arms to feel like they will explode. looking for some new routines
 
Wait so you want to get a pump? Do a drop set but pumps don't equal growth. Peak is just genetics though.
 
I just dont get pumps. I find it weird. I can curl a fair amount on the straight bar. My forearms feel like they are gonna explode. I dont feel any fatigue in the bicep heads. yet they grow? I'm trying to put it all together to get a great workout.
 
I have. I think i'll just stick to Giant Sets and Get more creative? I can pump everything else up. legs, chest, shoulders, back and even tri's. But for some reason the biceps just dont wanna fill up with blood.
 
I agree with ihateschoolmt. Getting the peck on your biceps is all genetics. You may not have the genetics to get a peck in your biceps. But having an 18 inch arms is really big. I'm only at 15.65 inches and I think thats too small. Try twisting your forearm in when doing dumbbell curls that will help with having a full thick bicep nut on you. If that all fails then steroids would be the next step to getting that.

maybe try some rest pause mini sets after your barbell curls? when you've done x amount of reps and completed your set rest 20 seconds do a few more and repeat, rest pause type training always seem to give me huge pumps, how i wish my arms would stay that way ha ha
 
sometimes too much isolation for biceps can be counter productive. try for pumps by doing lighter weight, higher reps with cables and heavy bb rows, chins and pullups to add mass to your biceps. as most have mentioned above though the peak is a genetic thing. 18 inches is impressive though.... you sure youre not too tough of a critic?

what grip are you using on the straight bar, if your biceps aren't feeling it then try a closer grip-to hit the peak more.

giant sets will pump the shit out of em. I liek to do a full routine and then tag 2 rotations of a giant set of 5 exercises each for 20 reps at the end. that will pump you
 
Winny I have the same problem. My biceps lag behind all my other muscles. I have recently switched up my routine. A buddy of mine suggest I train quads and biceps together. I have been doing that for the past few weeks. I feel more of a pump in my biceps but haven't noticed any major change yet. The method behind this madness is because when you train your quads your body will release GH so it'll force your bicep to grow. I figured I would give it a shot.

lagging in what way? to remain relatively symmetrical the upper arm, neck and calves should be roughly the same size. the upper leg should be roughly 10" greater than the upper arm and to accomplish a decent "V" shape the chest/upper back measurement should be roughly 10-15" greater than the waist.
 
I agree with the general sentiment that your arms aren't lagging. It's just that you are dissatisfied. I'm 250 and my arms are 19.5. On your frame, trust me they aren't lagging. Yes peak is genetic but with that being said are they well fed? How much heavy back work do you do? My development got better when I started doing more heavier back work not more bicep work....to sound redundant and yes, eating.
 
If you think your arms are lagging then they're lagging! its all about what you want to look like not what others perceive as big or good etc.

I'm sure many people on this forum get size comments on a daily basis, yet don't feek they are big enough.
