yes, the breast is a leaner than the thighs and legs which contain dark meat. plus the amount of meat in a breast is substantially larger. you might have to eat 5-6 legs to equal the same amount of protein in a large chicken breast.
While fat does have to do with the darker meat being more moist, it also gets its dark look and moist texture from having more mitochondria in the meat. Since the chicken walks a lot more than it benchpresses, it makes more mitochondria in its leg muscles thus giving them the dark look.
