Hi all,

After about 2 years lifting weigth, I notice that my left and right body parts seem to be different in size, most notably in my upper arms, but also my forearms and calves. The left measurements are generally smaller by 0.25" from the right ones. What to do to correct this size difference, to bring more balance between left and right bodyparts?

Regards,
Josh

I have the same problem but just with my arms. My left arm is bigger than my right arm, I don???t know why b/c I???m right handed and I work both body parts equally. The only explanation I can give to this would be that my left arms was not used to the work, so when I start working it, it reacted better than my right.

Try Dumbells for a while!

I did try bicep curls with DB before, but still my left upper arm is smaller than my right one. And while doing it with DB I could feel that my left arm was weaker, because with my right arm I could lift more reps, while for the same weight my left arm fatique faster. I wonder, should I do more sets for my left arm only? For instance, after doing either BB or DB curls, I would add extra 1 or 2 sets only for left arm? Would this help in balancing the sizes of my both upper arms? --Josh

Most people are asymmetrical to some degree.

Chicken Daddy, does this mean there is nothing I can do to become more symmetrical? If there is, what can I do? -- Josh

Well your shape is always gonna differ if it differs now.

I suppose size can be corrected though.

My right arm has always been bigger then my left. From the day I started lifting until now that hasn't changed. I think it's something that almost all bodybuilders have and not a whole lot can be done to correct it.

It can be corrected to a certain degree. What i did was to do extra reps for my left arm so for example 5 sets of 8,8,6,4 for my right arm and 5 sets of 9,9,7,5 for my left. Try this snd see what you think?

Being a smart a$$ won't get ya much help. Just because your a newbie doesn't mean you have to act like one.

I've read a few places they say to try to get more symetrical, is to stick with dumbell movements on almost all exercises. Then in a few months see if you can see a difference. don't do diff weights for each side. Use the same weight, but make sure to get the same reps/sets for both sides. Usually start with the smaller/weaker side, and then match it with the stronger side. :)
