IF YOU READ THE BOOKS, DON'T ANSWER! (i WILL hunt you down and beat you to death)

I only read The Hobbit. I have the other three, but I bought them after seeing the first movie. I am waiting until I see the third movie before reading the books. However, I have heard what happens.

I had never even heard of LOTR before the first movie came out. I guess I grew up in a cave or something.

I am hoping the wife can get out of work a little early today so I can catch the 5:00 PM showing. I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait....

Well maybe if you read the book or saw the movie then you'd KNOW what all the hype is about :D

my buddies went to the 2:30pm showing. i'm not a big fan of seeing movies during the day (i hate getting out and being all tired and its still early in the night). plus i just got out of subbing and i'm tired as hell.

but i'm def. going to see it this weekend......can't wait

OK reading all these posts, there has to be something wrong with me. I didn't even like the 1st one in fact, I didn't even watch the whole thing. Maybe I'll force myself to sit through the 1st 2 films and take the kids to see part 3.

Went to the trilogy also...started at 1:00 PM and didn't finish until sometime around 2:00 AM. It was flat awesome with the first two extended releases. I though it would suck sitting there for 10 hours but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Great movie. I saw it with a few friends....made the day a blast..... would advise everyone to see it ASAP.

PS.... There was sooooo many freak'n geeks there dressed up like hobbits, and all the characters..... you know you suck and have no life when you spend $200.00 on a costume... or your grap a trashbag and call it a costume... either way you suck. good movie...... moronic fans.

Especially when your dressed as a hobbit! If your going to dress up, be Aragorn!! :)

I saw Return of the King last night. I went to a 5:00 PM show. It sold out. I got there an hour before showtime and was the first in line for seats. :thumb:

Awesome, awesome movie. Anyone worried about a let down has absolutley NOTHING to worry about. :) I may have to see it again after a little of the hype calms down.

We used to watch it all the time, my friends and I even watched it on mushrooms once. That rotoscoping(using real footage as a background) he did in that was too trippy to pass up :spaz: :D

These real movies are much cooler though, I'll wait till it comes to Blockbuster, get all three and watch them one sunday in a row.

I've heard other people complain about the long wrap up at the end. The way I see it, the LOTR story was what, 11 hours long? I don't think taking 20 minutes to wrap the story up was that bad at all. In fact, I'd rather sit there for another 20 minutes and get shown what happens after the adventure ends, then to walk out of the theater wondering what happens.

Sometimes the wrap up is my fav part! Going to see it today, called in sick :)

I was hoping they would! One of my brothers doesn't think it's as good a story but I beg to differ. You've got more dwarfs, a dragon, treasure and Bilbo finds "the ring"

If they can do Star Wars out of order then they can do the Hobbit after LOTR, you know :D

diffinately, i really hope the do it soon,i would really love to see smog and the trolls.

That would be great if they did the Hobbit. I wanna see the guy that changes into a bear.... name.....??? The dragon would be sweet. I read the hobbit when i was about 15 and loved it ;)

I saw LOTR 3 Today!! AWESOME!!!! I called in sick to go see it! AWESOME!!

man I think my experience with this flick soured me on it. I went and saw it at 11:25 pm and it didn't get out until 3AM!!! this shit is fuckin long. They could've ended teh movie like 40 minutes earlier if not for all teh faggity little hobbits running around kissing each other and shit like that. Don't get me wrong it was a good movie but it was opening nihgt os the theatre was packed, and beyond that it was like 100 degress in there so teh bodyheat was too much to take until 3 in the morning. Go see it ealier and it will be all good thou.,

Somewhat old thread, just had to bring it up again. I saw it at 12:01 am wednesday morning, than 6:30 pm later that day. Yes, I am a Lord of The Rings super geek. The security guard called me out on going twice in the same day, I tried to deny it, but I guess a 230 lb guy like me sticks out from the usual LOTR crowd.
