Does it matter if I don't eat meat everyday?

Like alot of days I just do eggs, cc, whey/casien powders, milk, and tuna fish. A few days a week I have chicken maybe 2-3.

I dont do red meat everyday, but definitly do eat meat everyday!

It does not matter that you do or do not eat meat every day. What is important is that you are getting enough quality (to me that means low fat and easy to digest) protien. I saw a video interview with Bill Pearl and he stated he had been an ovo-lacto vegan for over 40 years. He consumed lots of dairy products and something like a gallon of milk a day.

I meant meat in general chicken, beef, etc. I usually only have it a few days a week. How do you guys have it everyday? I cant seem to make enough to last me a week. How many do you guys make at a time? I usually only have Sunday to make stuff.

i will generally grill up 8 chicken breasts at a time and keep them in the fridge.

as far as beef i do the same sometimes but will only cook up about 3-4 at a time...havent been eating the beef lately though.

I guess I just need to get into a good routine of making 12 chicken breasts for a hour or two on the foreman every sunday night if i like it or not.

The first thing I do when I get in every night is throw them on the grill...

Am i missing something here?? It only takes me around 7 mins to cook a chicken breast on the frypan using 1/2 teaspoon of canola or evo oil.

I could not stomach a breast that had been sitting in the fridge more than 1 day.

Are you guys really that time poor?

I eat meat everyday.

Usually cook two steaks or double portions of chicken breast at a time. Eat one - fridge the other. On Sundays, I'll make a huge meat stew w/ lots of veggies... lunch for a week. Sometimes, I'll spend a whole day cooking for the week.

Other days... fish (I'm an addict). At least twice a week.

Microwaving dry chicken breasts just requires adding a teaspoon of water to a semi-sealed container to make moist again.

BTW - Cooking for each meal in a bodybuilding regimine would require much time. I've learned to shop and cook in volume.

Generally speaking, about a pound (300-500g pre cooked weight) a day. Never takes more than an hour to make at night, this includes my veggies and anyhting else I see fit to eat the following day (beans, lentils, CC, fruit, etc).

I almost never make chicken or anything like that. Generally I have almost no time during the week to cook. And during the weekend I'm just too dang tired from school and work to even care lol :P I get by with cottage cheese and eggs. :) I tried making a whole bunch of chicken and just freezing it, but I eat them plain so they taste like shit after about a week of eating them.

Gee... if I were you - I probably wouldn't bother eating at all.

:roflmao:

Uhhh Ya! Try working 50 hours a week, running a business, training people, raising a family, spending time with a spouse and still finding time to train 5 X week... Yep, im officialy time poor!

I cook on Sundays too...10 chix tatas and 5 steaks on the BBQ (and I live in cold ass Canada), pounds of shrimp in the wok. I steam veggies, prep a ridiculous amount of rice, and diced fruit store everything into single servings and freeze. Thaw stuff daily and eat.

Add to that canned tuna, cottage, whey etc... I do eat meat every single day of my life! :)

What's a "Chix Tata"? That doesn't sound Canadian? LOL

Imagine as a bodybuilder... if you took out a frying pan everytime you needed to eat - and had to wash it when finished. Wouldn't that take up your whole day?

I spent a few nights in Toronto a few years ago at a Super 8 Motel. I heard lingo like that from the adjacent room all night. Heard stuff flying around too.

You Canadians are vocal.

Sunday is my only off day...So I guess I'll suck it up and spend a few hours in the kitchen with the foreman grill. I guess it will be worth it to have 7 days alot easier.

But my main issue was can I still grow without eating meat everyday? ;-)

Using mostly eggs, cc, milk, whey/casien, and tuna :)

Wouldn't the best approach be to employ all the sources?

I've gotten out of the milk and egg routine. I'm missing those.

Yep, I'mma start a routine of shopping at around 3-4ish sunday afternoon, then cooking the rest of the day :)

Is it dumb to buy like 4 packs of chicken fresh? Like 4 packs of perdue (they have 3 breasts each) ?

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I almost pissed my hockey pants...Thank gawd I didnt, that would have melted my Igloo!:D

I like using my outdoor grill to cook a bunch of meat all at once. I would like to freeze some meals for us to eat when we are short on time. I need some recipes for making my meat stay tasty in the freezer. Maybe some marinades? What do you do?

Sometimes I will cook enough for a few days. I take the chicken, dice it up, add some safflower mayo, put it inbetween two slices of bread...

Every day? I have meat with nearly every meal...... at least 5 servings per day

I never fry anything. I microwave my fresh eggs, microwave frozen skinless chicken breasts, and eat albacore white tuna from an easy to open envelope.
My veggies are raw, spinach, brocolli, asparagus, fruit, nuts, then I eat rice cakes w/almond butter, and in the morning I microwave my whole grain Scottish oatmeal. Anyone else doing this; yes it sounds very bland, but I've learned to enjoy it without cooking and I save time.

Me too. Dammit... I'm an animal! I love meat.

Somebody was taking about cooking "live fish" today at work. Wrap the fishs' head to keep it alive - why frying the body. The meat is cooked, but the poor animal is still gasping for air while you eat. Eek! I'd throw some asparagus over its eyes!

Deep Fried Fish, Shrimp and Scallops... okra, home-made "skin on" fries. Grilled asparagus. Salad with a half red onion.

Strawberry cheesecake with Reeses Cups melted over.

"These are a few of my favorite things." LOL

Just baked 4.5 lbs worth (9 breasts) so I should be pretty good for the week. They are huge too! Each one is like 6-7 oz, but I usually eat 4-5 oz a time, so I cut them up a little.

I sprinkled them with Mrs. Dash Italian Seasoning, and baked them in a cooking sheet for 55 minutes on 350 degrees, came out good!

Whats all the liquid in the tin foil? I poured it all in the sink...But I guess I'mma keep doing it like this every week, pretty easy.
