I had a similar problem in the past.. I spent $150 at tiger direct for a security camera that uploads to the internet and also records. You can watch your house from anywhere. Also there are cameras that will send you an email of a quick video clip whenever there is movement in the view of the camera. That'll give you a quick warning to run home w/ the gun

A camera is just another thing for them to steal.
An alarm is just a warning for them to hurry up and even if you do see them via an internet feed and call the cops they take their sweet ass time when heading to a neighborhood like that....

So, yesterday, I went home on my lunch break to talk to the apartment people, and there was a news crew there.

The apartment manager said 2 guys were arrested, one guy was shot in the head, and yesterday some guy there got rubbed at gunpoint.
If I'm lucky, one of the people arrested or killed is the person(s) trying ot break into my apartment.
