I have a question for all you guys out there. Back in highschool I was heavy into Army JROTC. Every year we would have one or 2 competitions where it was practically all the schools in Florida got together and we had a mile run, max pushups/pullups/situps ect. When I started in freshman year I was 5 feet tall and a "plump" 185lbs. I could barely run 100yards without being completely out of breath. By the end of my Junior year I was 5'5 anddown to 135lbs. I did a 5k run in 24 minutes. All of our training was very cardio specific trying to extend it as long as possible as we were doing this kind of stuff for the entire day during our competions.

There were also benifits...it seems that the leaner I got, the more attention I recieved from the ladies. All this combined with the cardio conditioning led to very...ahem...LONG days in bed during teacher workdays, spring break and especially summers (ah what great memories :D ) Anywhoo... getting to my point, during all these free-for-alls it was extremly easy to get and keep boners even after several hours of going balls to the wall. I never had any experiences to compare from before as I was a freshman and a fat little turd.

After I graduated things sort of changed. I started college and no longer did cardio but got into pumping the iron about a year after and have been doing it ever since. I have gained about 40lbs but about 20 of it has been muscle. My problem is that i have seemed lost my ability to "go all day" for lack of a better term. I can still get it up but it seems to take alot more concentration from me and more work from the girl.

I just started to get back into the cardio today and I was horrified at just how out of shape I was! I'm almost back to my pre-JROTC days!!! I gave it a good thought and figured that after reading all these medical journals and articles, the more you workout, the better sex you have and whatnot. I know part of the game is mental but at the same time, could my lack of cardio conditioning be causing the decrease in my ability to perform?? Does anybody here have any experience with this? Any input would be appreciated!

In theory, better cardio condition -> better blood flow ~ better hard-ons.

The extra fat may have increased estrogen a little and may keep testosterone from being at optimal levels. Also check stress levels and the way you feel mentally with who you sleep with. Both can have a big effect.

So yes, I think you are onto something.

True I have been under alot more stress recently...I guess its all a combination of both things. Hrm...never thought of it that way. Those days were kind of care free. Guess I gotta start with the cardio again!

You're just getting older. You're 22, it won't be up as much as when you were in your teens... and guess what, it is all downhill from here.

I thought of this loadsa times you know!!!! Visit my old thread, on my manhood problem. I did stop my cardio totally for ages and I can't stop thinking this made the situation worse...MY count has gone up abit, recently and I haven't up'd my cardio much at all. I'm goona soon though, so I'm going to evaluate what effects it had.

Also, the 2 main other factors...Diet+Nutrition, Sleep, play a huge role!!!

I think for totally boner bonkin success, the key is a whole healthy lifestyle. clean diet, stress free (relax), recovery+sleep, frequent, balanced exercise, enjoy urself now and then!!! (let go) could reduce in the happy hormone realese.

Thats what I'm saying....when I look back at it all, it seems like the lighter/leaner I was, the more I got action plus I was ALWAYS up for it. Now that I'm up to 20% BF it seems like I've lost that edge. I guess another problem is that before, we never really thought about this kinda stuff so now that we are out of shape maybee our minds make the situation worse than it really is :bulb:
