Hey guys was wondering, my workouts seem to be shorter than before, i know this is a stupid point to make but im having difficulty fillling 45 minutes.

e.g chest/shoulders
all 3 x 6-8 reps
Bench press
Incline press
fly's
military press
Tricep exercise(usually extensions)

i have 5 solid exercises here but i seem to get through them fast....my rest intervals are maybe a minute to two minutes...any insight much appreciated.

since when was length of time spent in the gym a measure of a good/productive workout?

Well i know that but when im done a routine in 30-40 minutes, its a bit weird isnt it?

not weird if you're pushing a very fast tempo. My non bench days don't usually last longer than 45min. My bench days can go upwards of 2hrs

I am never in for more than 1.5 hours at a time. Usually done in 45 to 60 minutes.

When im focused my workouts are rarely much longer than that. Sometimes if the gym is busy theyll stretch a bit longer, but that 30-60 minute area is what you should be shooting for.

But how many calories could i be burning in such time? Sure I feel like im getting a good workout, and im exhausted after but im worried about how many calories im getting off...

Longer duration does not neccessarily equal more or less calories. A shorter, more focused, more generally intense workout is far better for you, and more efficient in regards to the useful work you perform in a given time.

Don't sweat this too much, 45 minutes is fine. Most people on this site do the same length workouts, and last time i checked everybody was pretty damned fit, healthy, and in damn good shape.
