Hey guys, im new here. Im a 17 yr old girl from canada, and i want to be a wwe wrestler. about 4 months ago, i started having this bad neck pain, so i went to the doctor, and had an x-ray, but he said my neck was perfectly normal, and nothing was wrong. he then told me, it MIGHT be a pinched nerve, or i could just be sitting at the computer too much, and thats causing my neck to become stiff. i havent been on the computer much at all, and i still have the bad neck pain. i sleep with a neck brace at night, and it helps a lot. it actually doesnt hurt whenever i wear it. but, i also lift weights, and for a while, my neck was doing good, and then out of nowhere, my neck started hurting really bad after i lifted. the pain never really goes away, its always there, especially when im lifting my weights. it feels like its really stiff, and it kinda feels like its pinching, and shoots down lower, into my shoulders and arm. i was suppose to go to pyhsio, but they never called, so i thought maybe a massuage would help, but i havent gone yet.

anyone else ever have this, or have any idea what might be wrong? maybe im lifting my weights wrong? i have no idea! please help! thanks.

Your going to have to go to a neurosurgeon or a neuroligist and have a full workup. The fact that the pain is shooting down your arms indicates some type of inteference in nerve conduction in the upper levels of your spine. A disc or two are probably compressing nerve roots in your upper spine.

Take it from someone whos been spine cut 7 times. Do not underestimate this condition. Your going to at least need an MRI, a regular X-ray is pretty worthless. If some surgeon even mentions "surgery" to you then get 2 or 3 other opinions for neurosurgeons, hopefully from top rated spine centers that are also teaching hospitals.

But your far,far from that point Mel. Probably the majority of cases like this are due to compression of the disc on the nerve, but there are other reasons also. At 17yo your awfully young to be haveing these problems, but your also "young enough" to overcome anything.

Stop exercising and make an appt with a neuro. A special "spine pillow" to sleep with should help as well.. Also are you getting any numbness in your arms too??.......................................take care..............Rich
