Guys I'm about to start my bulk up program, but due to circumstances its a lot easier for me to workout during the evening (9pm-11pm) and I'm wondering if this is productive or will it work against me in some way.

Could some of you experienced guys please tell me what are some downsides/upsides in doing this? Or is it all the same?

Thanks in advanced :thumb:

If it doesn't interfere with your diet, if its separate from your cardio times then its about the same.

You'll be heavier, maybe stressed and maybe a little weaker due to everything happens and things you eat through out the day.

I do my work outs late at night too due to night classes and find it rather tiring but I have no choice.

Lift whenever you can, everyone is different and you will adapt to a new schedule eventually. I, personally, enjoy lifting in the evening or afternoon, after i've had a couple of meals in me. When forced to i dragged my ass to the gym at 5am, i really felt like shit but i did it. After a while you get used to it like anything else.

The only thing i don't like about very late training is that i feel amped up for a few hours and can't get to sleep if i have an early day the next day.

Yeah i work out at one every night cause the gym only has five people at most in it but is sucks cause i cant get to bed until 5 or 6 in the morning.

wouldn't be my first choice as i'm an early bird and would rather be in and out of the gym before noon but you gotta do what you gotta do! half my training is done in the AM and the rest early evening depending on what shift i'm on at work that week... 9-11 is getting to be pretty late though... i can't remember the last time i was at the gym past 8pm...

You guys are all nuts. I'm WAY stronger at night than in the AM - I've been eating all day!

My normal gym time is like 9PM and that's only because they close at 10PM. I'd go at 10PM if I could.

As long as its not keeping you up all night, no problems with working out at night.

it doesn't make a difference for me... the power of mental alertness and wakefulness is greater for me... not to mention it's easier for me to eat less in a day when i train in the AM...

Find a time that you can get your workouts in consistently, and stick to that. Whether it is better to workout in the morning or not doesn't matter if you can't swing it logistically, and I've seen no indication that it is necessarily. Working out at that time is fine.

I was going to say that too. My numbers are so much better at night time. Because I have a body full of food!

At night time I worry about time, getting home and everything else.
In the mornings my head is clear and all I want to do is lift. Night time Im lazy :p
