I'm still trying to figure out my refeeding. Mostly I can go 3 days on under 30 complex carbs then refeed on day 4. But this week i got that tired lethargic feeling after 2 days. Is this my body telling me to refeed? Should i follow my usual schedule or how my body feels? By the way i went to the bakery and got a loaf of fresh out of the oven tuscany bread and had grilled chicken and grilled steak sandwches for the remainder of my meals, ate the whole loaf and man was it good.Felt great the next morning and started back to the under 30g carbs. Give me some opinions if you think i'm on the right track.

As long as you are in touch with your body enough that you won't mistake refeed needs for carb cravings, that's probably the best way. A lot of people, though, get irrational urges while dieting, so strict rules, regs and measurements are "safer."

Exactly :thumb:

One thing to keep in mind too is that the leaner you get the more often refeeds are needed. So if you've been dropping a ton of fat then it could be possible you need to refeed more often.

As Akateros said though, be sure you are not mistaken carb cravings for the need of a refeed.

I find myself with out energy after 2 to 3 days also, I damn near feel like I am going to pass out:yawn: . the key is to have healthy carbs ready for when these days come and listen to your body and don't push it. These are the hardest days cause these are the days I am most likely going to mess up. like today I gave in to my weekness for icecream. :finger:

timt, you said to have healthy carbs ready, but i have heard more than often that fast burning starchy carbs speed up the leptide replacement......or should it be a mix of both good and bad carbs?

Depends on the person. If you put on fat easily, and it comes off hard, then chances are you will react poorly to the fast-burners (i.e. they will slow your losses if you misjudge your amounts even a little). Also, fast burners can cause problems when dieting, because they make one's insulin spike, thereby inducing cravings and mad, unstoppable binges.

In my humble opinion, slow burning carbs are just fine. The leptide replacement will still occur, even if not at warp speed... Of course, if you did happen to be craving junk, this would be the time to do it, if you had to do it. Personally, if I do that, I have to ignore anything about "not eating carbs late" and have my measured serving of crap right before bed. Then GO to bed. You can't eat more if you're sleeping.

thanks

i think i'm gonna try the fast burning carbs at the beginning of the day and the slow burners on the second half

jodi...not to change the subject....but who designed your signature....its cool....just curious.....i'm an art director/graphic designer

Thanks, I like it :cool:It was designed by eclypz at Avant. I have it because I am a moderator there.

if I don't have carbs from oats, fruits or vegis ready and eat junk I just want more junk it is up to each individual. these are good for me:
Bagels
Pasta
Rice
Bread
Cereal

these make me want junk:
Fat Free/Sugar Free Ice Cream
Pancakes
Waffles
Crackers
