I was in the Gym today and I guess I've noticed it before but today it seemed more pronounced. It was leg day, and I was the only guy doing a leg workout in the entire gym.

Why do guys who have obviously busted their butt on their upper body and did a good job, neglect their legs?

These guys are pretty big, but when you look at their leg structure it looks like they don't even work out.

Is it just me who cares about symetry?

I'm not griping and if that is what those guys want to do, then thats fine with me.

I'm just trying to understand how a person can spend so much time working on their body and then neglect a very important part of it.

These men aren't bodybuilders, they are just trying to train what they think girls like, chest and arms. It looks ridiculous to say the least. Besides leg training is hard and painful and most pussies can't handle it. Me myself, I am somewhat of a masochist so I love the pain of leg day, ha ha

Yup!!

Leg day is my favorite.

Balls to the wall almost puking power!!! Came very close today to spilling the cookies on the seated press. Those guys with no legs would of got a kick out of that!!!

Today was exceptionally good, them legs be a wee bit sore right now!! Tomorrow, they will hurt like MFs and I'll love every pained moment of it!!!

I've never met a woman that liked men with skinny legs!

damn u guys got me flat-out!!
i can't lie i don't do legs, and i ain't proud of it!
been only working out bout' a year though, so im still a newbie, but i know that ain't no exscuse.
i try not to wear shorts trying to hide my "chicken" legs LOL.
i swear i'm gonna start real soon on legs that is.

most of ur muscles/bones are located in ur legs You would be a fool not to train them, or just plain stupid, or maybe u don't care. But I'm sure you aren't one of them.:)

lol, oaktown.....

naw just kinda lazy....

Working legs stimulates other muscles in the body to grow. So if you want to have big arms and chest, do squats!

No kidding, no reason not to do legs. I mean you don't just brush your top teeth and forget about the bottom ones do you?

Genetically, my legs are already built. Long line of racing cyclists in my family, coupled with the fact that I played soccer for 9 years resorts to me not doing any kind of leg workout besides running.

Fear of knee problems is one reason men don't work legs. Another is maybe they had a bad knees problem before and they kind of got gun shy as far as working the pegs. There are many reasons but to say that women don't like developed gluts, quads and hams is ludicrous.

Legs are certainly the most difficult. My legs are pretty well developed from riding a bike but I still work them so I do not get that jailhouse build.

I understand training legs needs to be done, but I must admit I don't like the huge legs most BB's have. It looks strong, but not athletic. I think trained, and shaped, but lean legs looks better. Kinda like Superman comics and stuff. Muscular, but definately with a thinner tapered look going to the upper body.

(yes, I understand this is only a cartoon, but you get the idea? :D )

I love how in comics most of the characters' abs are so huge and ripped that they are defined through all types of clothing. It's so funny.

I really hate leg excersices, but what can I do?!
I don't want half a body looking good, perfect body is the only option, so I DO LEG EXCERSICES, EVEN IF IT SUCKS!

just imagine yourself with a big chest n' arms, and legs that look like pencils, hehehe funny huh ?

By the way, superman's legs are sexy!

Personally, my upper body NEVER grew as much/as fast before I read and applied Super Squats. 70% of the body's muscular mass is in the LOWER BODY so there simply isn't enuff muscle to cause the hormonal response by ONLY doing upper body.

Squats are EVERYTHING. Ever try partials squats w/ over 700lbs?

I haven't done partials with very heavy weight. Is there any benefit to doing so?

U bet there is!!! Go Precision Training.com. Static holds work w/out a doubt. I don't think a person could make static/partial reps a sole training system but they do offer a way to get out of a plateau tho.

Paul Anderson used do partials w/ 1800lbs. He dug a hole in his backyard and gradually filled it, gradually increasing the range of motion of his reps.

I have had a torn acl and torn mcl on one knee, then damage on the other as well. I don't do squats, can't, they hurt way too much. I do everything else i can though. I really miss the squats. I used to do 405 on a regular basis.

As for training the parts that they think women like the best...ask a woman about a nice set of muscular, not huge, but tone legs...see what they think...i know my girl loves my legs!

I have read where women went wild when Platz posed. There's another thread here about Platz. I don't understand why someone would work so fucking hard to get HUGE legs and intentionally drop to 175lbs.

that guys legs are huge, there is no way i would go that far

y?

I just meant for me, i don't think i could. My knees are too bad. Every single attempt at lifting great weight on or with the legs ends badly. I just do enough to keep them in shape and in proportion. I wish i could seriously train them though...

Unless you are a powerlifter that is working on a sticking point in a certain part of a lift, there is no point in doing a partial lift IMO, besides working you ego. You shouldn't partial squart what you can't full squat. There is no doubt that static contractions can be a good thing to do, but you can go heavy in a lift without restricting yourself to half the movement, C'mon. Who gives a fuck what you can half squat, what can you full squat! that is what you should be concerned with.

I never do leg workouts in the gym anymore. Back when I was in my 20's and working for a Sports Supplement Company, I did lots of heavy leg work and now have to deal with the bad knee syndrome. To compensate though I ride my road bike about 80 miles a week and find that to be a great leg workout. My legs aren't like they used to be but I just can't deal with the pain and the chance of hurting myself. I've got to be able to keep up with the bad guys!!PEACE!

My biggest pet peeve in the gym! I hate seeing a huge upper body on then chicken legs. Pathetic!
