And he's only 175!lnvanry said:I make fun of PL a lot, but this guy was impressive. His quickness was just as impressive as his strength.
His moves were so fast you don't even some of them...all of the sudden the bar is up in the...BAM!
I like how he rests the BB on his delts and walks it back to the rack![]()

Is that the 3x body weight snatch guy?P-funk said:Still though, if you want to see someone that moves even faster try and find clips of Halil Mutlu from turkey. No one moves faster than that guy. Blinding speed.

swordfish said:Dammmmnnnn. I have heard a little about him before, Pyrros Dimas is his name, right? That is truly more impressive than any powerlifting or any bodybuilding competition stuff. Unbelievable.
Not to take anything away from Ronnie Coleman(very strong as well) and his video the unbelievable, but just watching a guy that is a buck 75 sling around 400 lbs is even more phenomenal.
Any more info on this guy P- Funk? Does he compete still or is he in the olympics anymore or what?
I think I remember that. He was the guy that is like a freaking hero to everyone in Greece right? They love that guy.P-funk said:Dimas is a little heavier than 175. He is an 85kg lifter (187- 202lbs).
Dimas competed at the last olympics in greece (his home country). He took home a bronze medal with a 469lb clean and jerk (which I posted in the olympic lifting thread). He used to have the world recod but has since been broken. He was originally retired after a bunch of injuries and surgeries (one on each shoulder and something with the leg I believe). he decided to train and come out of retirment for this past olympic games since they were in greece (his home) and he wanted to have the oppurtunity to compete infront of the home crowd.

I hate when people say that bull shit about powerlifters......I especially hate it when it comes from bodybuilders or people that are 150lb wanna be bodybuilders. The super heavy weights are the only guys that are really sloppy but ya know what.....they are the ones putting up the big numbers. It is the same in olympic lifting too. The super heavy weights are big friggin' dudes adn some are sloppy. Why make fun of them though? because they compete in a real sport? Because their meets actually have something to do with athletcis? because they don't care about how they look or being pretty boys and instead are worried more about optimal performance come contest? Any one can diet down....not everyone can be strong.

It doesn't even look like he's shrugging or raising up on his toes too much but the weight just flies up there!
