How many of you guys work your obliques? What effect does not working them have? Does it effect any other exercises or cause a body imbalance?

I don't set out to work them...a few things I do work them a little. So I would say "no" I don't work them.

Of course I work them...they are no different from any other muscle...as bodybuilders the goal is symmetry and COMPLETE development....therefore working the obliques for maximum development and striations is a MUST!

from what I hear many bodybuilders set out not to work them so they have a tiny waist, allowing for a greater v taper

OOPS sorry about that buff, meant to get fit freaks quote

Jemal...not true...what we try to do is avoid doing heavy lifting for them to avoid added bulk...it's still important to work them...just w/o a lot of weight and higher reps.
