Overtraining not as common as we may think?

I found this article and thought it was interesting. We hear a lot of people talk about overtraining and it inhibiting muscle growth, but I wonder when they will develop a real science for what overtraining is. This is not specific to weight lifting and I know each type of training is different, but I still found it interesting!

that article tells us absolutely nothing about overtraining not being as common as we think. that article was stupid.
 
So I'm at the gym doing what I like, pushing my limits. I hear this FAT FAT FAT chick ask the owner as I rested, "Is he going to be OK??" That hurt, her saying that. : (

I'm thinking shut up FAT FAT FAT chick!! The owner said, "He's very durable." Still, what the hell does she or anyone else think they know about what I can deal with????

I get overtrained more from life, than from over-extending at the gym.
