Are personal trainers worth the money? I have accumultated decent knowledge over the years.. but was considering the route of getting a professional. Opinions?

A good one is worth the money.

It is find the good one that is tough.

No matter how much you know (or think you know), it is impossible to really be objective with yourself.

Hire Patrick. He's one of the very few I would recommend to a friend.

How much do you charge patrick?

You mean if you want to see me in person?

$75/session for one-on-one ($60/session when purchased in bulk).

I leave 75-90min. for all my one-on-one clients to ensure that appropriate time is taken to learn the exercises. I handle everything - I do hands on soft tissue work when needed, we then go through a full mobility warm up that address the issues/limitations/asymmetries that you showed on your assessment, and then we train.

Typically for clients coming in from out of town, I spend a little longer time. Knowing that they wont be with me a few times a week like locals, I want to ensure that they get the most information and the best instruction I can possibly give them.

nevermind.. i see AZ. Do you happen to have a reference for me in the Pittsburgh, PA area. I'm really struggling on getting to my goals.. and could use good advice

I do offer distance training also.

As far as training in PT though, maybe google Brett Jones and see if you can get a training session with him (he is out there in Pitt). He is the man!

It's fairly expensive, but you can also see if you can barter for their services.

There's a physical therapy/training shop that I've been going to a few minutes away from me that I'm going to start trading IT/Programming stuff for training....perhaps you can work a similar deal?

Agree with Patrick. A good trainer is worth the money. A lot of trainers are literally just avid gym goers with connections or a shitty certification with no credibility. So make sure you get someone who knows what the Hell they are talking about.

Distance? I live in the UK....

I guess 'distance' is sort of vague.

Think 'online consulting'.

That may be a better way to describe it.

Thought so. Was jus testing the water.

Besides I think after paying your flight and accomodation I could probably afford a quarter of a session.
