I have a quick question about my post workout shake. I know Dextrose is thrown around as a good supp to put in their whey shake, but should I bother if i get my carbs through blended food in my shake? My post-workout shake is usually 2 scoops of whey, I glass of 100% fruit juice, 1 banana, a half a cup of frozen fruit and a cup of yogurt...doesn't this cover all my post carb needs? Any thoughts would be great, thanks!

A little too much fructose in there. Maybe skip the OJ. Just use water. You could eat some solid carb if you like - I often use rice cakes. Starch is a glucose polymer - it breaks down into glucose, not fructose. Better sugar for post workout.

Cool...thanks. I do like the fruit and yogurt with my strawberry Isopure so I will ditch the juice.

i aim for 35-35 carbs and protein, in fact i should probably up my protein. i think people take too many carbs pwo. i like a blend of simple and complex, if you are having a smoothie type shake, that is fine post workout.
