I have been wondering this for a while now, and hopefully you guys can enlighten me on it.

For instance, someone wants to have bigger pecs, thus he trained with a respectable amount of resistance and controled movement. However, is it true that in order to let the Pecs get bigger, it is compulsory for the Pecs to sore for the next few days after the workout, to indicate that it is growing.

Or...

Will the muscle grow bigger nonetheless as long as it's a proper training, and muscle soreness ain't nesscary?

Though muscle soreness is and indication of a good workout, it doesn't mean you need to be sore.
Some people and muscles recover faster and never feel that "sore" feeling the next day.

Use an increase in strength and size as your guide, not muscle soreness.
