Members I need your help, what I am looking for is a protein bar that is low in Fat and still taste good.

I need something I can eat quickly while at work to help me get through the morning until lunch time.

I know I could go out and buy 1 of every brand and flavor and try them myself, but I thought I could enlist some help here for some reccomendation to try first.

Thanks for your help!

protein bars and shakes are not meant to replace meals, food is the very best, if at the very least eat a can of tuna in spring water. or hard boil some eggs. some type of food..

I agree with your statement, but I need something I can eat and keep moving while at work.

I am not replacing a meal, just something to get me by for a couple of hours each day until lunch time.

I agree too! Just pack up smaller peaces of chicken tuna

Toss a few scoops of protein powder into a shaker cup. Add water and knock it back with a handful of raw almonds or peanuts for your emergency meal. Protein bars are really crap food.

Another thought - carry a few hardboiled eggs with you. Easy good quality protein and healthy fat.

You can make your own protein bars, that are real easy. I used chocolate whey isolate, oatmeal, crushed almonds, small amount of peanut butter, honey, and almond milk. Search "home made protein bars" in youtube, there are a few good recipes out there. The problem with protein bars is that even the low fat ones are loaded with sugar.

Werd, best to make your own and know what you're putting into it.
They even have a thread here on it.

From the AM to Lunch I do eggs, sometimes I sneak a CLIF bar which is pure crap but gives me a nice sugar rush without loading me full of fat.

I got home from work today and my wife had made me homemade protein bars.

She got the recp. of the internet and whipped up a batch. Oatmeal, Honey, All natural PB and some other stuff.

No preservatives, no added sugar ect.

God, I love my wife!!

I second that. I understand bars are convenient, but they really are---bottom line---crap.

Chocolate PRO powder is good mixed with Diet Dr. Pepper... try it!!! SOOOO GOOD!! And chase it with some almonds, as suggested above. You're better off.

I am curious, and saying "ew" at the same time. I can't remember the last time I had a carbonated drink, and I don't intend to.. but this certainly made me think about how it would taste.

Haa, yes, it does sound bizarre, possibly even gross...but give it a try. I don't do carbonated drinks typically either, but sometimes I just need some oomph added to my protein powder.

If you do try it, let me know how you like it.

Oh wow, I'm not the only person who does this! I haven't tried Dr. Pepper, though.

Haaa, yes, Diet Pepper is quite the sh#t!!!! Have you ever indulged in the following:

1 scoop ice cream (regular or ff)
sugar free root beer
vanilla or chocolate protein powder

If not, try it. It makes an awesome float...

And, btw, I am going to try the home made bar recipe above. Sounds yummy, AND you have control of what goes into the ingredients!

Make your own trail mix type snack. Peanuts, almonds, raisins, banana chips, coconut flakes, various seeds. Just don`t overdo it on the dried fruit.
Also mix some peanut butter with some chocolate protein powder and make little balls, roll them in oats and put them in the freezer. Also works with honey and other flavors of protein.

I brings hard boiled eggs and an apple to work for a quick snack, I am going to try that protein and peanut butter ball

Get creative. Try other ingredients.
You can also do cheese/spinach.
Yogurt is also quick to just gulp down.

I am about to try this for tomorrow....Sounds good. Will check back in.

try to look for biscuits that is rich in protein or hamburger I guess it has a lot of protein because of the beef meat in it.
