whats the difference between having a shake pwo (oats/whey/milk/banana) and eating a bowl of oats with a banana mixed in, and having a whey/milk shake on the side?

I think im going to start having a bowl of cream of wheat pwo, its high gi, and low in fiber, yet still has some decent nutritive properties. What are your thoughts?

* note *

ive probably asked this before, so sorry before anyone rails me.

as long as you are getting those ingredience.. doesnt matter how the hell you eat them!!
it is just easier to throw all that shit in a blender and drink it down, rather than make them all individualy.

thats what i thought... thanks for the quick reply.

Yeah it doesn't matter :) Just so long as you don't take too long eating ;)

Well... Smaller particle size and a greater surface area over which your gastric and intestinal enzymes can act and this = easier to digest... And easier to digest = faster absorption... and faster = better uptake in the immediate PWO period...

(This is why flour = higher GI than the whole grain... although oats, interestingly enough, have less of a difference than other grains to grinding)...

I say, if at all possible, liquid is heaps better for your PWO shake....

I'm going to have to call this minutia in the grand scheme of progress. It's just not going to make much difference in physique progress over the long haul.
