I was at pathmark the other day and noticed that they had top beef cut up, but there were no nutrional facts on it. I'm looking for a lean cut of beef, and I was wondering, do you all think that it would be okay to buy, not knowing how much fat there is?

yeah I did, but the problem is that I go later in the day, and usually the people who work there in that area at the time don't speak english too well and didn't know what I was talking about lol

Anyways, it should be pretty lean, even if it isn't, I'm not trying to lose anymore weight as it is.

Sounds like you need to find a new place to buy food..I will not give my money to any business that doesn't employ English speaking people. Weight loss or not, it's not good to eat high fat beef so you better find out the fat % or shop elsewhere.

Well, someone who spoke english was working there today, he told me its around 85-90 percent lean, so that sounds pretty good for beef.

90% or better is ok, I buy no less than 93%

Like a steak... you can "look" at it and determine how lean it is. Seems kinda silly that people put such a fine point on these dietary matters, doesn't it? - but, I've never cut-up for a contest.

I think most of your "better" grocers or markets label the fat% in ground meats, don't they?
