I noticed on another thread dg806 and Twin Peak discussing BCAAs. I have been considering using them but was intriged to know why not to use them on a bulk????? I now they help prevent muscle breakdown after working out.
Any thoughts?

I use them year around along with glutamine. I find them helpful at all times.

Where did you hear not to use them while bulking? ive never heard this...

It was in a thread about best legal supps. It was mentioned by twin peaks. I've never heard of it either, which is why I was interested!

Can we have your input Twin Peaks plllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaassssssseeee!!!!!:p

They can be used at all times. I mostly use them before cardio or if I am about to start lifting and haven't eaten for over a few hours. Along with Glutamine.

You dont need them on a bulk, because of increased protein.(assuming your on a high protein diet)

same here

BCAAs are not cheap. Whey concentrate is. Whey has plenty of BCAAs, so your money is better spent on whey when bulking.

I find BCAA to be cheap. I always get ON's BCAA 1000 caps. I take them right after a workout with my protein and right before I go to bed.

an effective dosage of BCAA's is around .2 grams per KG of BW any less than that IMO isn't worth it. they are definetly best used when there is a severe caloric deficit...

so the average 200 lb weight trainer would need to take in 18 grams...

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Many whey powders are about 25% BCAA.
