Romney Wants to Sacrifice Our Health to Become President

why they started to allow the private sector who produces our food to put chemicals in everything we eat and drink they "might" bear some responsibility. if you think ingesting chemicals every day for the entire lifespan has a positive effect on the health status you know absolutely nothing about health or science.

You have the right to chose not to eat those chemically enhanced goodies. grow a garden, raise your own meat, go hunting. The governments responsibility is to provide an environment for commerce, and protect our borders. outside of that we are responsible for ourselves. I hate that people think it's the governments responsibility to do everything for us.

Healthcare is not the responsibility of the government

You do have that right, but when the same food manufacturers who make those products are the ones funding the studies showing them to be healthy while the gov't sits on it's hands the gov't bears some responsibility. Add to that the fact that USDA MyPlate guidelines which are put out by the gov't are directly inline macronutrient-wise with the guidelines to fatten up cattle and you can see why we are in the mess we are right now. And it doesn't take too far of a journey to figure out that an animal (Humans) that operates perfectly fine with between 50g-100g of carbohydrate/day will begin to have problems processing blood glucose (Diabetes) when they consume 300g/day of carbohydrate (The USDA recommendations). Just for a reference number, the entire human blood volume can safely hold 4g of glucose at one time. That means the USDA recommends you consume 75x more carbohydrate than the body can hold in the blood stream at one time. Unless you are chasing down mountain lions all day long that's a recipe or diabetes.

i never said anything about chemicals in our food wtf?

the government allowed food producers to turn what we eat into chemical laden crap. that being the case they should probably make sure the majority of the population has access to healthcare due to the effects of that decision. on top of that all of the studies from the OECD show a positive effect between productivity of workers and those with healthcare benefits over the lifespan.
