What sort of user name is rip zyzz? Stop being a fukn nut hugger unless yr his bro or family member.

Not being a hater, just offering up my opinion: The machine will hurt you sooner or later.

Nice job! I love seeing girls get after it. Try a little slower and tighten up, imo.

Sarah's stronger than some guys

Deep so deep! Good job!

Agreed. Step out of the smith.

You are doing so many things wrong. Your training mentality is great, but it is ill applied. The positioning of your torso in the bottom position is completely wrong. You have to keep your butt out and forces those knees out.

Those sets were soooo hard! Skorts are greatest weight lifting invention ever:)

I don't know what you guys mean by knees out...lol

Whatever my technique, it is definitely not traditional!!

Welcome back where have you been ?

Ha come on, if you are going into a squat, and you make your knees go out towards your toes... Instead of letting your knees buckle and cave in towards each other.

Junky form in the smith isn't quite so uncommon. :(

Her form? Who cares...Look at that caboose! and those legs :daydream:

Ha I'm only trying to help, irregardless of how she looks. I just don't want to see her sidelined by injuries. Female athletes should be more wary than anyone about knee injuries. It's hard to tear an ACL from head on from what I've read, but with her wonky knees, I'd say all bets are off. Won't have impressive legs and butt when, not if, she injures herself.

I agree. Aesthetically there's nothing to hate on and I've offered up a few comments in the past that probably could get me arrested. The work ethic is probably greater than mine. I guess my old age has me getting tired of seeing something like this and wanting to say kick ass job because you're hot while ignoring the obvious. But yes, I would have to say that the smith work was nothing short of horrendous. Only because, as others hint to, you're not going to be kicking any ass when injured. Yea in this day and age we all get tired of the long distance pseudo know it all trainer corrections.

I'm also not a fan of lateral lunges. There's just not alot of musculature to directly support the movement especially in a typical toe forward and or deep stance.

And sometimes things are harder because it's improper. like bending the elbow the wrong way.

Who knows you could lift your whole life and never have a hiccup. But it only takes a split second.

Be careful...

You guys talk about injuries without really knowing my body - I am remarkably flexible in knee/hip/ankle joints from years of breastroke at
a competitive level.

These sort of comments are precisely that- comments. You do a video and post it. Then we'll talk.

Great job, Sarah! I've never seen hack squats on the Smith before. Can't wait to try that. PS--anything can hurt you sooner or later. Keep up the great work.

You keep it up. I love your style!

That's what it is! Swimming. I was going to ask if your legs were already strong when you started lifting weights. I think you look awesome doing your video. Go Natalie Coughlin, Scott Weltz and Kristian Ipsen (my Bay Area peeps).

With all due respect....

Only in the Smith! Only in the Smith. Why do something in the Smith your body couldn't do otherwise? There's a reason. You're not intended too. We don't need to know your body or what you've competed in, etc. We all have the same body functionally(for the most part). Not really much going on except what one can get away with. Would you recommend rounded back straight deads or some good morning-laced knee wobbling mis-tracked half squats, or square shouldered bench presses?

A loaded spine, under flexion, with angular momentum at that. There really isn't a debate on this! And I cringe at the site of momentum being stopped not by muscular contraction but by joint structure (of the knee, at the bottom of the squat) Olympic lifters at the extreme level are the only folks who need to venture into this risk...And most of them have sprained or torn something or otherwise conceded the added risk for the sake of being at such a high calibur.

My site is in the works. I will have no problem putting up vids, as I have many planned (included some spoofs and industry related comedy) and would have had some up but I'm currently nursing some issues from when i broke the damned seated row and flew off onto the floor...another reason I hate machines...I fucking break them! It's hard to break a dumbbell! But I digress... And as I will explain on said site, as I do in person or otherwise...I don't criticize for typical internet or know it all reasons. Shit there are way too many folks just on this board that can hand it to me in anatomy...I do it because I care. Because I've been injured, i've seen others, helped others, My bro just tore his pec messing around with mister typical push the limits trainer. Surgery now, and he'll probably never be the same. It only takes a split second. And for what? You could do regular squats and I guarantee you your legs would look the same...hell if not better(if that's possible) But i get it. You probably wanted it to be a kick ass vid, a little odd, different, going for it, a little pain...

If this was John doe, most of you hard ankles would have probably driven him off of the boards by now via criticism and you all know it! Trust me, again....I can see why most guys don't want to criticize. You're a hot attorney...Hell i feel like I might get summoned or something just writing this. So don't hate me here... But I can't give you a hot pass. As much as i would truly like to.

Thank you :)

Bay area - never been there, but hopefully someday. I love the idea of open-minded people, great culture, an ocean, and lots of sports. Natalie is one amazing
woman, one who has reigned over the swimming community with pure dominance for years. I'm really pulling for the American swimming team in London!

Hack is terrific on Smith, as you can take your hands off bar and concentrate on balance - plus, it looks really bad ass :)
