My mum who, like all mums, always talks about her children to her friends. She was talking to her good friend who is a pharmacist, and she mentioned that I take protein & weight gain shakes, which my mum dislikes. Her friend said the amount of protein I take from things such as eggs, meats and fish aren't a problem, but it's the supplements that could cause damage.
I'm asking this question for two reasons; one, to show my mum that what I'm taking is fine, and two, that I wanna know my heart is fine taking these things.
So can protein supplements cause heart problems? Is it to do with the additives, and if so; what additives should I watch out for?
