Should the death penalty be re-introduced??

I don't know of a person, man or woman, smart enough to decide whether or not a person should live or die.

I think they still do in some states. I think Arkansas still has chain gangs.

They brought back the chain gangs in AL like 15 years ago. But, I'm pretty sure it's not compulsory. They have to agree to participate in a work program to earn "good time". When I was in China though, the road behind my apt complex was constructed by prison laborers. They use it everywhere over there. Here, they can opt out of work altogether. Doesn't seem like a bad idea to me to make them earn their keep while living on the taxpayer's dime. On the other hand, they also sentence criminals to death for a lot less than what it takes over here.

thats why there are 12 jurors, a judge presiding, and multiple judges during the appeal process, not to mention the governor at the end who signs off on the execution. its many people. from an individuals peers screened by both the prosecution and defense lawyers, judges both elected and appointed, and an elected governor. it may not be perfect process, but i don't think its because of a lack of checks and balances in the process.

i don't believe that capitol punishment is a deterrent. I also don't care that it isn't a deterrent. purpose of capitol punishment is to remove those individuals from society who can't ever come back. we need to expand its use, not limit it. rapists and child molesters are way worse to society in my opinion than murderers. I've not seen anything that shows an innocent man has been wrongly put to death since the death penalty was re-instituted by the supreme court.

I don't care so much about justice and vengeance either. It is just good sense to kill off violent murderers and violent sex offenders. We don't have the resources to house them. They are worth nothing alive, so just kill them and be done with it.

I agree with life. On what grounds does a human being have the right to be put to death by another mere mortal? It's irony at its best when the law murders another human being for committing a crime. It also goes against one of the ten commandments "thy shall not kill" which is again ironic considering that it is standard procedure to swear on the bible when put on the stand in court.
Anyway, for some of these scumbags death is too easy and painless. IMO I'd much rather them suffer a life long sentence in misery and die of natural causes like every other poor bastard.

And because of all those checks and balances it costs more to kill someone than it does to keep them in jail for life. So why not just do that?

post some stats

Maybe, but it's a lot higher in other states that don't have chain gangs. In the state I live in it's higher, and we don't have chain gangs. I think they do stuff that wouldn't otherwise get done anyway like picking up trash off the highway, and clearing weeds.

I'm just fuckin around anyway. lolol

If someone comes into my home and tries to hurt me or my family, I will decide real quick that person should die.

i'd kill most of the people in prison today. fucking inexcusable drain of resources.

I think it should be available...forever!

PS. it is 64,000 dollar per person a year to house them.

And many of them are under grave circumstances with health issues, in more of the larger prisons. The conditions for many of our older prisons are very poor. We'd rather house them to let them watch cable then prepare them, for a re-introduction into society again.

They then are unable to sustain jobs or adequate abilities for economics times, as well maintain their independence. They are then again back into trouble and they are then returned to prison or in just in trouble again.

SAD !

for me, life sentence is better.. 'coz jail is hell!

Hey "Kristine"! Did you come back just to spread your spam?

I see you put your website on how to start/promote a personal trainer business, in your visitor messages. Looks like a rip off to me!

Happy spamming! See you on other forums too!

Jail is just a rest stop on the way to hell.

I say, apprehend, try and execute all in the same day. then, on to the next case. :banned:

Also, if anyone has never seen this movie for those who are into the life sentence this might just change your mind. I've been told a few times that it was a fiction story, but some say different.

The movie, "Death Warrant"

was one that makes the idea of the death penalty seem all too nice.

I seen a show where a prison in Louisiana makes inmates grow their own food. Because they grow so much food it only cost $1.35 to feed an inmate per day. Not a bad deal.

So my brother who broke into a store to steal me clothes for school because we were so poor deserves to die? Fuck you.

if you kill somebody, you deserve to die.

The system should be eye for an eye.

That would make you think twice...
