Morrell's are tasty though. I had friends who picked them in Washington, but don't know of any here as I've never picked them myself. You'd think with all the cow pastures, etc., there would be some around here once in awhile.
I hunt morrells too. They are much trickier to find than trippy mushrooms. Unless you have your own personal spots you check every year you could be on a wild goose chase. Dead apple trees and elms are a good place to start too.. Definately never found new patches on flat ground. Always hillsides. Delicious.
They are great with steak and eggs. My favorite of all fungi I would say.
