Took me 2.5 months using a calorie deficit of 1k calories and a 2k calorie cheat day once a week.. yay me, from 221 to 180

-Now id like to start putting on muscle.. am i suppose to do a 500-1k calorie overage now?

**really want to know this one**How do I know how much to work out so I build muscle and not fat?

-Can anyone recommend a workout plan for me? I have the Select tech weights, a bench and half of the P90X on dvd (limited income)

-Also, are their any supplements that might aid me?

Okay. Props on the weight loss!

Do you have access to an actual gym, even a community centre twice a week?

Community centres are great! went down to my local one where you donate money if you want otherwise free (heaven for us students on close to nil expendaple income). Sure the equipment is limited but it's still enough to get in a good workout

There are a couple gyms in the area.. I think one is 25 a month, I was going to check that out

I train in community centres, and honestly, I only use the cage, dumbbells, an adjustable bench, the cables, the t-bar, and the treadies.

i fuckin hate p90x, i hate their commercial and i hate it how everyone all of the sudden started doing that shit at work liek its a fuckin mirracle.....i dont fuckin get it, it is soooo fuckin easy, and here is the formula: Calorie defecit + shit load of cardio (p90x) = weight loss..............get ur diet straight and lift weights and you will look better...dont listen to those fat loss video fads, they come and go.

I got this special meat if u wanna buy. $65 a kilo, but if you lift heavy and eat this 5 times a day with alot of fat & carbs it will build you like a motherfucker.

Doesn't have shit on that magic rock P-Funk was selling a while ago.

Congrats on the weight loss to the OP!!

Question guy, have you tried P90x, or are you basing your assumption only on the commercial?

I am doing P90x right now (third week) and I can assure you, its not bullshit. I have been working out for a few years, and this is definitely not a gimmick. In fact, its significantly harder then I expected.

Infomercials can make anything seem too good to be true; that is their goal. P90x may seem gimmicky, and it may just be taking age old principles (caloric deficit+weight training+ cardio+ proper diet = fat loss) and jazzing them up, but the bottom line is this: If you follow p90x for 3 months, you will get incredible results. Some people have the dedication, motivation and knowledge that can do it by themselves at the gym, and achieve similar results in 3 months. P90x takes the guesswork out of it; get the videos, 6 days a week press play and do what Tony says for 1-1.5 hours. There is a lot of body weight exercises, plyometrics, push/pull, pushups/pullups, and buckets of sweat. Also the 16 minute Ab Ripper X video is enough to humble even the fittest people.

After saying that, I think if you have access to it, I definitely recommend p90x OP. I am in a similar boat, as I have lost a significant amount of weight and am in the "now what stage". So I decided to take it to the next level and go from "average" to ripped. If you are dedicated, and are willing to kick your own ass every day (in the best way possible) then give this a shot; you wont be disappointed.
