Sore Forearms?

I just started training-its been 5 days now. Ever since my first workout, my forearms have been very sore. I am getting enough sleep, so what else do I need to make recovery faster?
 
If you've only been training for five days maybe you just trained your muscles too hard and you need some rest. That might not be the problem. I heard the glucosamine helps or is it glutamine. I think it's glutamine.
 
Glucosamine helps joints, Glutamine helps your muscles recover. I made that same mistake today at the store.. I spent 30 bucks on glucosamine thinking it was glutamine.:P I can use it though; fortunetly(sp); Cuz my knees suck :)
 
Either of you two have positive studies on Glutamine?
 
water! you'll find that when you're dehydrated youll get more sore and stay sore longer. i carry a 32-oz bottle with me almost everywhere, fill it about 3-4 times a day (thatd be about 1 gallon of water a day)
 
When you first start lifting you are going to be sore for a little bit. Don't worry about it, keep training, and your body will adapt to the point that your forearms won't be sore for so long in the next week or two.

That is 1 minute worth of browsing through articles I stumbled across on Google in reference to glutamine, or at least mentioning positive benefits of it.

Lol, Shit. No, Never read any research on the subject. Until now, Ive only read and heard glutamine helps; So I took it as one of those,"Long past proven and understood facts." But I guess where theres money; there will be bullshit.
Thanks for the correction though; saved me some time and money.. Plus I wont be giving people bad advice.. well, on this subject anyways, LOL.:grin:

That is one study. There are many others that support the benefits of glutamine. Whether or not it increases your muscle mass isn't the question anyway. What it does do is speed up muscle recovery and prevents immune system suppression post-workout.

I completely agree with my man P, Glutamine is worthless to the average lifter IMO. don't waste your money on that shit. There are so many threads arguing this exact topic that I don't want t start another one, but its just hype IMO. It can serve a purpose but the average BB is not gonna really benefit from supplementing with it.

Yes I did. That thread isn't the be all end all of information on glutamine. I'm stopping here because this argument could go on forever. I don't really care what you think about glutamine. I don't use supplements besides vitamins and protein anyway, so I could care less.
 
I think MAYBE glutamine alone doesn't do it, but a combination of vitamins and glutamine and enough water can help the muscles recover, but I dont take it, sometimes it's mixed in with my creatine mix, but it's all good, i will not go out and buy just straight glutamine.

no, but I saw that you have a quote from Robert DiMaggio and even he agrees that glutamine helps. I'm sure he is not just using glutamine for the hell of it.

That would be like me posting a site about the negative side effects of creatine or how much of a waste it is to take 1g of protein per 1lb. These are topics that many people disagree on too.
Everybody has their opinion and you are obviously entitled to your own.

There are no side effects of creatine.. Ecxept in those who may have a kidney condition, and dont drink enough water.
As for the protein, I bet the guys saying 1g per LB are as skinny as Bradd Pitt.

I was just posting a link to the thread, because Str8flexed has some good arguments on it. Thats all. Seems from your response that your a glutamine user?

Oh, and just because I think Prince gives good advice, and is quite knowledgeable doesnt mean that I will do everything he does. I think its fine that he spends his money on glutamine, but I will not.
 
No, I'm not a glutamine user. I've just read threads on the subject. Sorry, I didn't mean to get defensive about it.
I just heard that there haven't been any long term studies about the effects of creatine. Hasn't stopped me from using it.
At least mindless' problem is solved, right?
