So I found my second favorite nut and it would the good ole spanish peanut! These are pretty damn good!

I'm going to say almonds.

I did say Almonds were my favorite, but Spanish peanutes hands down second.

Nah, peanuts are eh....i'm all about the macadamia nuts and raw almonds :nanner:

Aren't macadamia nuts some of the worst (in the saturated fats sense)?

Not at all. It's one of the greatest mono fats. They even make a cold pressed macadamia nut oil to use for EFA's.

No there aren't. However if you look at nutritional value, peanuts are the least nutritious. Oh and peanuts are a legume really, not a nut :p

I don't know what I would do without unsalted Almonds and NatyPB.

Jodi, quick question. I have come across two types of unsalted almonds, Raw and Roasated. Which are better for ya? I would think the raw since the roasting process could take something beneficial out. Any enlightenment would help as I will stick to one over the other.

Raw nuts are always your best choice because the oils are still in tact. When they are roasted or cooked in oil, much of the healthy oils are broken down.

Spanish peanuts are pretty good.

Speaking of nuts not really being nuts, aren't cashews a fruit?

The cashew itself is a fruit but inside the fruit is the cashew seed which is what we all eat as cashews. So no, the cashews you are thinking of are actually a seed.

Exactly the info I was looking for. Raw nuts it is.

Nevertheless still not a nut. I think my dad had told me it was a fruit. Now I can tell him he's wrong... again. :D

Well botanically speaking all nuts are seeds but not all seeds are nuts. Technically a nut is a single seeded fruit with a hard shell. So really all nuts are actually fruits.

So anyway, yes, cashews are a seed not a nut.
