I know I shouldn't be eating highly processed foods like white bread, or even wheat bread, but in a recent Muscle and Fitness they had an article on sandwiches and on one of them they used sprouted bread. Now I can't find sprouted bread around here anywhere, but one of the local bakerys has sprouted wheat bagels and I was wondering if this would be an alright carb source.
Thanks
Bob

they are better than whole wheat as a carb source, use them...

yes, sprouted is a better choice, I would opt for that. not to mention its pretty darn good :lick:

What exactly IS sprouted?

BTW, does anyone know if there are multigrain bagels? I used to loooove bagels..

all multigrain bagels I've seen are made of unbleached enriched flour

even whole wheat bagels have high fructose corn syrup

I was able to find a carb counting variety by Thomas that has no crap ingredients and is whole wheat

I could do without the limited amount of carbs (26 if I remember correctly) but the bagels are smaller than their regular kind which will help me keep my portion sizes smaller and the ingredients are mint.

Arnorld makes a variety of low carb breads that are very clean ingredients wise...but the cabs are too low for me (if I'm going to eat bread, I'm looking for a good carb source...if not I could just eat a damn salad) so I stick with Arnold's Natural 100% whole wheat.

I saw a dark german unbromated stone ground 100% whole wheat kind which I might try next time.

That's what I might be having for my carb up meal! Organic Whole Wheat Blueberry Bagel w. some PB and a banana :)

Has anyone tried Country Harvest's Sunflower Flax Bagels? I thought i was doing alright having one for breakfast, but after reading this thread i'm not too sure ;)

Anyone have opinions on them?

Brad.
