Anyone ever get a headache feeling while doing squats, last 2 times i did squats the last few reps i get a sharpening pain come threw the left side of head behind the ear. I thought maybe it was the bar on my neck pinching a vien or some shit so I used some padding and that seemed to have helped but it still came on a little, as soon as i stop and sit down the pain goes away... i usually do 15reps and it comes on about 10-12 reps in. I've done squats before and never felt it so just thought i put it out there see if anyone's felt it...

Thanks.

How's your breathing? I used to get headaches when I squatted too, but I was concentrating so hard on performing the lift I was forgetting to breathe properly. My head probably nearly exploded on a few occasions..

Yea i dunno like i said ive done squats many times before and breathing has never changed, but I'll try to focus on breathing more see if that helps< if issue persist i might have to lower rep range and maybe add another set.

Breathing was the first thing I thought of while reading your post as well.

do 10 reps. Problem solved (not really but you know what i mean)

Make sure you're resting the bar on the proper area of your upper back. Keeping the bar too high ie. too far up and close to the neck can shoot pain through your head.

could be your breathing , could be improper placing the bar on the neck
if not , it may be tension of the muscles of your head ,,, occipito-frontalis muscle
as you train you increase the weight and you increase your effort ,,, that's why you get a problem you never had before

It is related to your breathing. There are many posts about this across many boards. I too had this issue and still do time to time. As soon as I adjust and properly breath I am GTG. Hacks used to get me the worst...

if its the bar, try to use a hood when you squat.. had a lot of headache some a go.. Or do you look up in the ceiling? Try to look at a spot a couple of meters in front of you.

Hope it helps! And sorry for my english.. :/

Actually went to doctors because headaches became more frequent when I wasn't doing anything physical. I have Thuderclap headaches and I'm actually getting an MRI to rule out anything serious today.

Well MRI is negavtive yay!!! Still dont know what caused the headaches but went to gym today and no head aches... Anyone know if Jack3d cause headaches? thats the only thing that ive been taken thats new the last 3 weeks. I didnt use it today i missed the exta pumps it gave me but no damn headaches.
