Over the summer, I had started lifting for the first time in my life. I did so for about 2 months, and was really liking the results. I went away for a couple weeks, and kind of fell out of rhythm. Then I got back into it for a few weeks but got a new job that was very physically demanding, so once again stopped. Now after having not worked out for a month and a half, I have decided to get back into it. I have been swimming the last week and a half. I have never swam before, and it is a very good workout. I actually look forward to getting to the pool every day. I never really felt this way about working out, although I did like the way I used to look when I lifted weights. My question is, How could I incorporate lifting weights into swimming. I want to get some high rep low weight lifting in, but I'm not sure how many days I should swim vs how many days I should lift. If anyone else out there does both swimming and lifting, I would love to hear how you do it. I don't know much about lifting besides how to do the exercises, so I don't exactly know how I should break down a heavy cardio exercise that uses my whole body, and lifting weights. Thanks for any help.

3 day lifting splits are very common. You could lift 3 days per week and swim another 1-4 days per week, depending on how much you like doing it and what your goals are.

So if basically I did a
Swim sunday
Lift monday
swim tuesday
lift wednesday
swim thursday
lift friday
swim saturday

That would be fine, and the swimming and lifting would not interfere with eachother?

Also, could I swim on the lifting days? I really like doing this swimming, and if it wouldnt hurt, I would like to do it all days.

Swimming

hii
continmue with your swimming
that will kwwp you fitfater swimming you can lift the weights
start with small amounts then preoceed to big amounts

In theory it is best to do no cardio if you are trying to put on mass, but I don't think it will be much of a problem as long as you eat enough food.

Swimming is a low impact cardio exercise
(Unless you swim at an Olympic level)

Even if you are running a heavy bulk, three days of LI cardio for 20 minutes
is a must I think!!!

Just to keep your metabolism from totally going into the shitter
