Those guys have to have balls of steel to get out there. Bull fighting is an awesome sport. Now the running with the bulls thing is just helping speed up natural selection.

Pfft. If they were brave, they wouldn't need to torture the bull before the fight. I have no problem with people fighting against a powerful animal so long as it is a fair fight, and the animal wants to fight in the first place.

Bull fighters are overdressed faggots.

I think it would be a good way to settle wars.

Have two armies in an arena . . armed with blunt objects. The country with last man alive wins . . the other side gets nuked :coffee:

Or each side could build giant death robots and fight them in an arena.

Whatever happens to a bull that injures a bullfighter? is it awarded its freedom?

Im pretty sure he ends up getting raped and BBQ'd like the losing bulls as well . . life is so unfair!

I think, the ways these bulls are pampered for their entire life just for this day should be noted. These creatures are treated daily to the finest bathes to that of the best foods. Then within the ring(s) later on in their adult life, not without being treated like kings.

The other photo of the matidor getting ribbed is not unusual, but very sick for some to watch live, alike to me the death of the bull.

Nice and interesting topic of discussion.

I don't like this form of entertainment, nor would I consider going to this event.

a hero's death? your kidding me right? its a "sport", and yes it takes balls to get in there with a animal that is X10 stronger but I wouldn't call a bull fighter a hero.

Stich and friends jumping over bulls,:coffee: Spaniards got hops.

So, a bullfighter fights the bull and kids gets to slaughter the beasts ?

very, very strange, indeed!

Kid was just doing what the parents told him to do, bullfighting is common in trujillo. 4-5 bulls a day die that way in that particular place from what I understand, in the background bull number 2 is getting ready for some knife on throat action.

this is interesting, 27 pages of famous bullfighters. a lot of them died from gorings or complications from having been gored. the thing is there is such a history there and it's a part of their culture. i would just like to see it change with the times.

Fighting Mad, California Bloodless Bullfights

The bull is still beef after the fight but he is not tortured and does not die for entertainment. And like the article says, the "Bloodless" in Bloodless Bullfight, doesn't apply to the matadors.

in very rare instances a bull wins crowd favor and is spared. and it used to be a much more savage spectacle than it is now.

FAMOUS BULLS Many Spaniards can tell you about the great bull Bailador, who fought in 1883. It took 21 deep thrusts of the rapier to kill him. In the meantime, Bailador had killed 13 horses. Another bull, Caramelo, defeated a lion and a tiger in the Madrid ring, and when he fought on August 3, 1877, his courage and strength so impressed the crowd that a roar went up to spare him. (this does happen in rare cases.)

"Caramelo, a famous bull in the history of bullfighting in Madrid, was one of the few bulls to earn a pardon and be spared. This bull took on a lion and a tiger, and won both times. The crowd decided to spare Caramelo, and he was pastured instead."

Maybe not a hero, but he def earned some respect. Perhaps a state funeral is in order.

It's really more of an art than a sport, just as much as painting, music, or dance. Although, since the bull does have a fair fighting chance, it's really kind of an artistic sport. I hear they're very exciting to see, much more so than watching on TV. Most of the haters change their tune after actually experiencing one. But, the "bloodless" bullfighting doesn't compare to the real thing. It's not even bull fighting. Might as well just call it dancing with the bulls.
